[Winamp] I still use Winamp everyday to play back mp3 and music video files.
I found a "plug-in" called "Deleter" that addss a little red cross button to widows bar and if your listening to a track that you don't want, one click and it deletes it from your hard drive! Also has a "move button" so pressing it just moves the file to a folder of your choice.
Also "drag N drop from playlist" is a useful tool. I have it set up so pressing and holding the middle mouse button allows me to drag any track from the winamp playlist to a folder or any other program in windows / nework drive etc.
''Album Art'' is a good one too (nice to see a little window with the tracks art) but simply double clicking on it opens the folder the track is in. So if your like me want to open a folder up to move / copy a files but it's hours after you started listening to stuff and have no idea where it is on the hard drives it's real quick and handy.
Tags / Play Count Question:
I have tags set to be written to, so when I edit a file name etc it saves it. However I don't want the bother of backing up the database etc when I move to a new laptop (I doubt it will work how I want because USB drive letters / file paths change etc). When I go into Settings > SetTagsAuto [YES] it updates what I need other than "play count" If I type a number in manually it saves it, but will not save my play counts from gigs. I like to use the play count view when Im stuck for something to play as I know the tracks with the most plays are the ones that usually keep the dance floor alive. Do you know any setting I can look at to write the play count to the file (on the fly)? Cheers.
