Cisco Network Cards.
This page:
http://simp.ly/publish/gwG54d
These NIC cards fit in CISCO 1900 Series routers. (I used CISROU-0179 = CISCO 1941/K9 ROUTER)
* Install Putty or Extra Putty.
(Freeware - just google and download it)
* Connect serial port adaptor to PC and COM port on the router. Run Putty on serial connection 9600. [Putty Instructions]
* Plug network card into port EHWIC0 & Plug in ADSL line (no lights will be lit on the network card).
(When powered on EN light = solid, CD light flashes)
To test type:
#en
(Enables the card)
(Password is cisco)
#sh inv (Shows inventory).
#sh ip int brief
(If the card is down (not Admin down) and it doesn't initialise it may be faulty.
Dialer 0 should have an IP address.
#Ping 8.8.8.8 repeat 10000
(This pings google for 10000 Cycles and take note to see if any packets are dropped. ).
Should then get a page of esclamation marks: !!!!
(It will stop when it reaches the end).
If any are faulty they will need to be TPR'd.
Update Serial Number on Unity (Even though they are balance)
Fill out form on sharepoint.
