Sec. I
2 Give ear, O Shepherd of Israel, You who leads Joseph like a flock; You who are enthroned upon the cherubim, shine forth.

3 Before Ephraim and Benjamin and Manasseh, stir up Your might, and come to save us.
4 O God, restore us; and cause Your face to shine, and we shall be saved.
Sec. II
5 O LORD God of hosts, how long will You be angry against the prayer of Your people?
Etzion trans.
O Lord, God of hosts, how long will You angrily reject the prayer of Your people?
6 You have fed them with the bread of tears, and given them tears to drink in large measure.
7 You make us a strife unto our neighbours; and our enemies mock as they please.
8 O God of hosts, restore us; and cause Your face to shine, and we shall be saved.
Sec. III
9 You plucked up a vine out of Egypt; You drove out the nations, and planted it.
Etzion trans.
You brought a vine out of Egypt.

10 You cleared a place before it, and it took deep root, and filled the land.
11 The mountains were covered with the shadow of it, and the mighty cedars with the boughs thereof.
12 She sent out her branches unto the sea, and her shoots unto the River.
Etzion trans.
It sent out...
13 Why have You broken down her fences, so that all they that pass by the way pluck her?
Etzion trans.
...pluck its fruit.

14 The boar out of the wood doth ravage it, that which move in the field feed on it.
15 O God of hosts, return, we beseech Thee;
look from heaven, and behold, and be mindful of this vine,
Sec. IV
Etzion translation divides verse 15 after "O God of hosts, please return", putting the section break here. It begins the next section with, "Look down from heaven..."
16 And of the stock which Your right hand has planted, and the branch that You made strong for Yourself.
17 It is burned with fire, it is cut down; they perish at the rebuke of Thy countenance.
Etzion trans.
Let them perish at the rebuke of Your face.
18 Let Your hand be upon the man of Your right hand, upon the son of man whom You made strong for Yourself.
Etzion trans.
...upon the man whom You have attached strongly to Yourself. {The Hebrew has " 'al ben-Adam"}

19 So shall we not turn back from You; make us live, and we will call upon Your name.

Etzion trans.
He has not turned back from You.
20 O LORD God of hosts, restore us; cause Your face to shine, and we shall be saved.
