The Ten-Tec Eagle, one of the easiest HF radios to operate... right?
Something that is often overlooked is that while WE may know what is needed, the person on the other end may very well not. A simple "How To" printed out and left by the radio can mean the difference between comms or no comms.
Below is the one I printed out for my wife to get our base unit up on the 80M band for NVIS comms with me.
Usually the Band B "bottom" is pre-configured for Emergency Comms.
If you see (Feq 3.818.000) on the bottom, use the #28 [A/B] button in the upper right to switch the bottom band to Band A "top". CONFIRM all is set according to steps #6 - #8 otherwise go to step #4 below.
Change Band A “top” to 80M (Feq 3.818.000) by pushing #21 [BAN] until the you see 3.xxx.xxx in the display .
Check that [PWR] is at watts.
If it is not, hit #12 [FNC] then turn #26 [MULTI] clockwise.
If the AT-100ProII Autotuner is attached to the radio (default setup) then you are ready to transmit.
