NEEDS CT NUMBER AND HAVE TO BOOT BACK TO UEFI once changed serial number.
Has 2 slots of PC3-133MHZ DDR 3 (can get to them under cover no need to take KBD off, top is expansion, bottom = primary).
Ubuntu 10.04 from memory stick won't work - no wireless or sound.
Ubuntu 11.0 from CD works OK.

Replaced system board, laptop still didn't turn on. Re-seated components and suspected DOA part. Put original board back in and lapop powered on however the display is very dimm in the bottom left corner - new screen required (system board ordered not used as I put it back in again to test and it did work). Please note the laptop was sent to the workshop without any RAM, this is the reason the laptop doesn't POST.

Known faults - When using the machine windows minimize almost in slow motion, the display lagging behind. Believe this could be an issue with the processor (in warranty: 29/09/2014). Laptop is on bench undergoing testing. 320GB Hard Drive is OK. No faults found running Ubuntu. Will install windows and test later.
1944109 - SN: CZC1483WJ9 / SN081UC#ABU is on bench. Has a 4GB stick of RAM in it. Keyboard is worn - overuse. Casing is also dented around the optical drive slot (lapotp looks to have been dropped). Lots of other wear around palm rest and sceen has scratches and and a crack around the bezel. Will power it on now to test. 250GB Hard drive is healthy. Reported fault is not yet apparent, LCD screens take at least 15 mins to warm up so will leave it on test for a while.

HP EliteBook 8460p CZC1345FMR / SN081UC#ABU. Laptop has damaged cover around the power socket, also cracked and dented base plastics and top cover on the left hand side (fan vents) where laptop looks to have been dropped. Reported Fault: Laptop shuts down at random. There are flashing lights but the customer could not confirm how many pulses. On test in the workshop and results so far: Laptop powers on, but nothing on the display, not able to get a display on an external monitor (Scroll lock and caps lock light flashed three times). Please can chargeables clarify if this is MAW as machine has obviously been dropped (no visible damage to internal components, Hard drive, screen, RAM etc not yet tested as machine does not turn on).
