Dreamcast http://tinyurl.com/GazDreamcast
(Is VGA better than scart? But then how do I get sound?).
• I was given a Dreamcast by my mate Jonny Li (guessing it would have been around 1998), with a few games. I’ve since acquired another and been downloading games and burning them to CDs. Never really bothered with it until last couple of years, can’t understand why I didn’t do anything with this until 2020! Finding it loads more fun than current gen systems.
(Only works if my PC is powered on! Or join me on Gigatribe).
Dreamcast Games I have on disc:
My favourite games are the Street Figter versions. Even though I've got more modern releases on XboxOne and PS4 they just don't have the same feel - probably just nostalgia, but these fell more faithful to the arcades I remember playing as a kid.
If I was told as a kid what I would own and have a massive projector screen set up in my house to play consoles on I would have never believed it! Trying to get my kids into gaming, other than the fighting games above can anyone reccomend any 2 player games a 7 year old girl might like? Thanks
==Dreamcast Apps & homebrew==
Wondering if https://www.fightcade.com can play DC games?

• I need to look at getting a GDEMU when I get time, not sure what it is or how it works yet, but from what I can gather you take the CD drive out of the Dreamcast and replace it with an SD card reader device.
If you know anywhere else I can download some more please let me know.
Only download the CDI files if putting on disc, the GDI is better for an emualtor.
to burn to disc you need to install http://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/7_zip.html and http://www.imgburn.com to be able to write .cdi images to disc. Download IMG burn drivers: http://theisozone.com/downloads/pc/other/update-v13-imgburn-2570-w-dreamcast-drivers/ When you extract the file, you'll see a setup file for ImgBurn and another compressed file called "cdi files for imgburn". You can ignore the setup file since you installed the newest version of ImgBurn already. Extract the "cdi files for imgburn". This will create a new folder with three files: pfctoc.dll, pfctoc.h, and pfctoc.lib. Copy the three files to C:\Program Files\ImgBurn or C:\Program Files (x86)\ImgBurn
if it loads like an "audio CD" you will need to run Utopia Boot Disc.
I have two dreamcasts, some burnt games work on one machine and not the other and vice versa (It depends on the laser in the CD drive).
As above I burnt some to disc years ago, tried again the other day (November 2020) but it didn’t work. Not sure I have the gear to do it these days and not had time to figure it out.
See if the girls will play: - Dolphin Blue.
(Tried Bomberman, thought they would like that, but not showing any interest).All Lilley wants to do is wander around on Roblox on her phone. Got her Minecraft on Xbox 360 she has had a go on that).
