Notes for Houkai3rd Armada Matrix

  • The only place to spend Armada Fuel
  • Rewards include: Ranger Badge (Armada Exchange Currency), Common Currency (Dorm currency), Fury Chips, Dorm upgrade boxes, Schicshial & Negenthropy Cores (low chance), and assets for your Armada
  • Good place to train yourself with using Valkyries that you don't normally use

Notes on Mechanics

  • All HP recovery skills from Valkyries are disabled; the good news is that there are buffs that can heal you
  • There are also passive buffs that you are granted every week for your Matrix adventures. Be sure to read the text after the line that tells you about the disabling of HP recovery skills.

Buffs

Healing Buffs

  • EP Strengthening: This buff recovers your EP and a good percentage of the active Valkyrie's HP whenever you use a card skill, making it probably the best buff you can get in the Matrix, and is a must have if you wish to be able to continue your leveling streak.
  • XuanYuan - Flower: Recovers a small amount of HP upon item collection. Note that this only works for items (buffs are considered as items), not Houkai fragments, EP recovery drops, or HP recovery drops. This is a great buff to have together with EP Strengthening so that you can preserve the cards for when you are in an emergency, and keep your Valkyries healthy throughout your adventure.

Physical Damage Buffs

  • XuanYuan - Sword: Decrease the speed of enemies who were dealt melee damage, increases damage received by enemies by x% for y seconds (z seconds cooldown)
  • XuanYuan - Bow: Decrease the speed of enemies who were dealt range damage, increases damage received by enemies by x% for y seconds (z seconds cooldown)

Cards

  • Ultimate Defense: Grants invulnerablility for a few seconds

Important Valkyries

SIlver Wolf Silver Wolf

Surprise surprise! The very Valkyrie that a lot of people look down upon or laugh at how niche she is.

  • Enemies will generally focus on Project Bunny 19C, leaving Silver Wolf safe from attacks. Maxing out the time that Project Bunny 19C will remain in the field after Silver Wolf is switched out is ideal since Silver Wolf has low damage output. She can also heal Project Bunny 19C with her Ultimate, so you basically have yourself a tank and a healer as a two-in-one package.
  • Silver Wolf also grants the rare elemental damage barrier for all allies, which is the counterpart of the physical barrier that Yamabuki grants. This is so great it is almost essential to climb to high levels of the Matrix, since there will be stages where you will have to take burn damage to proceed. Having Silver Wolf's barrier, coupled with the buff that reduces the debuff time, ensures that you don't take any damage, saving you a lot of trouble from having to keep your Valkyries healthy in an already hostile environment where HP recovery drops are scarce.
  • The only downside to bringing her to the Matrix means that you can't have Yamabuki in your team, making your team vulnerable to knockbacks. But this is definitely a worthy trade off, since Yamabuki's barrier usually can't last very long in high levels. There is also less worry about physical defense since there are various buffs to compensate that.

Snowy Sniper Snowy Sniper

The Black Horse of the Abyss is also the Black Horse of the Matrix. You can use the same build that you have for Abyss for Snowy and bring havoc to the enemies in the Matrix.

  • Her sheer damage from her Abyss kit is wonderful. Put that together with the fact that enemies will generally go for Project Bunny 19C if you put Silver Wolf in your team, and you easily have a rather reliable semi-black hole, allowing your Snowy to use either the 5th Sacrament or Tyr's Arm to deal massive damage to all enemies.
  • Her long-distance evasion is a godsend to saving your team from danger. Utilize it here!

Bad Valkyries to bring

Any Himeko, Yamabuki, Divine Prayer

Except for Divine Prayer, these Valkyries have slow movement speed, hence making them vulnerable targets. Himeko, especially, is one of the worst Valkyries for the Matrix, as her fighting style is one that trades her HP for powerful attacks (not just Bloody Rose, but all Himeko), and HP is precious in the Matrix.

Teams

These teams are experimental

Silver Wolf Snowy Sniper Dimensional Breaker

Snowy Sniper can go with her typical Abyss build and she will probably wreck face. Put in, say, Chariot here, and go with Silver Wolf, and you will probably have yourself a decently stable and powerful team. Silver Wolf should use a weapon that can stun, like the Seeker Canon, to trigger Chariot's QTE for saving herself, dealing damage and air lifting enemies, so that she can then use her Ultimate before using Snowy's QTE, which then Snowy can just go ahead and wreck face. This team is, however, relatively week to Psychic types, which are generally not too dangerous cause they are usually slow or predictable.

Strategy

Enemies to Watch Out For

  • Clawed Zombies: They are fast and vicious. These little bastards, especially the ones with flame and ice claws, are extremely lethal. Given their speed, it is sometimes really hard to predict their movements to evade their attacks. Should you be hit, you will either be inflicted with heavy burn or crippled by the slowness from the ice damage.Steer clear of these little bastards and take them out from a distance.

  • Missle Mecha: Given that the duration of their missle launches is longer than your evasions, you'll almost always get hit by a couple of the missles if you are within range. If they have the Fury buff, they can become extremely dangerous as their attack speed increases tremendously, making it difficult to evade their cannons (the ones which you will see straight targetting lines before the cannons are fired). Things also become complicated when there are two of these on the field along with some of the fast moving zombies. Silver Wolf and Shadow Dash are likely your best Valkyries to counter these, as they can shift these enemies to focus on either Project Bunny 19C or shadow clones.

  • Dark Valkyries: They are always dangerous, nuf said. High HP is the least of your problems; some can trigger time fractures which renders you completely vulnerable to enemies, particularly Moonbeam. Take out all other enemies as soon as possible so that you can focus on them. Because of their nature, expect to lose some HP every time you meet one.

  • Scythe Zombies: They are easy to deal with, but they can also hit you like a truck if you are not careful.

Enemy Buffs to Watch Out For

Controls

  • Godly: Grants a light barrier (like Yamabuki's) to all allies. Once the barrier absorbs a certain amount of damage, it will stun all enemies around the target after 10s.
  • Light Barrier: Target gets a light barrier once it receives a certain amount of damage. Barrier paralyzes all nearby enemies after 2 seconds. This is extremely dangerous once you go to higher levels, as enemies deal a lot of damage. If your Valkyries get stunned, expect them to either drop to really low HP, or die. Use range attackers to counter these enemies.
  • Reflect: A pain-in-the-ass buff on the enemy; Reflects stun/freeze/paralysis/burn ailments to inflictor. If you have a skill that stuns or paralyzes, be sure to be careful.
  • Vibration: Another pain-in-the-ass buff; When knocked-back, deal damage to nearby enemies and stun them. Extremely dangerous, use range attackers to deal with these enemies.
  • Fill up: Yet another pain in the ass; Passively attack nearby enemies once every 5s, stunning them for 2 seconds.
  • Lightning Lock: Paralyzes enemies upon a successful hit; invalidates lightning damage; sends a lightning bolt on an enemy that has successfully landed a hit on the target and paralyze them (has cooldown)
  • Duel: Probably one of the most painful ones yet; Creates an area of which enemies can only deal damage from within; all damage dealt by enemies outside the area are completely nullified.

HP Drains

  • Flame Wheel: Provides a fire ring around the target, inflicting all enemies within the ring with flame damage, inflict burn on enemies upon a successful hit. Target is immune to flame damage. Best way to counter is to bring Silver Wolf in the team, or expect HP drain.
  • Poison: Excretes a puff of poison when target has taken a certain amount of damage, slow and deal periodic damage to all enemies in the smoke. Use range attackers to deal with such enemies.
  • Magnetic Field: Creates a magnetic field. Enemies outside of the field takes periodic lightning damage. This is an enemy that you want to get rid of as soon as possible, so bring your best ST DPS.
  • Curse: Curses the enemy who kills this target, dealing 3% HP damage over a small time frame when the cursed unit is attacked. You may want to deal with this enemy last.

Enemy Buffs

  • Will of Steel: Increases damage of target as time passes by. Decrease physical damage received by 80% but increases elemental damage received by twice.
  • Hidden: Target enters stealth mode when landing a successful hit, becoming invulnerable for a small time frame.
