Despite medical exclusion shock. Tottenham will not give up on '2005-born winger' to replace Son Heung-min

Tottenham are still keeping tabs on the teenage winger, who shocked them by failing a medical. Tottenham are considering him as one of their long-term options to replace Son Heung-min (32).

Tottenham news outlet SpursWeb, citing British outlet HITC, reported on Tuesday (June 10) that Spurs have renewed their interest in Antonio Nusa (19, Club Brugge), who was hijacked in January and remains high on their transfer list.

Noosa is a winger that Spurs have long been interested in. The teenage Norwegian international has been targeted by Spurs as well as other big Premier League clubs including Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal, and Newcastle. Along with Elling Holland (Manchester City) and Martin Ødegaard (Arsenal), he leads the young Norwegians.

The right-footed Noosa can play on either side of the ball, as well as up front and in attacking midfield. However, he is considered to be better on the left side. That's why he's been touted as a possible long-term replacement for the club's captain, Son Heung-min, 32.

In fact, during the January transfer window, it was reported that Tottenham would pay more than £26 million for Nusa, and he seemed to be close to joining Spurs. The fans were excited.

Then came the news. Kim Ji-Soo was guaranteed a starting spot at Brentford and suddenly, Noussa changed his mind. He headed to Brentford, leaving Tottenham with a bitter taste in their mouths.

Interestingly, Noosa didn't pass Brentford's medical. During the tests, he was found to have knee and back problems. The knee, in particular, was said to be serious enough to require long-term treatment.

As a result, the move fell through and he"ll stay in Belgium for a while longer. Fortunately or unfortunately, Tottenham will be able to target him again. Of course, they'll have competition from other clubs.

Spurs are also interested in Spain international Nico Williams (22, Athletic Bilbao) this summer. Williams is also a left winger with a right foot. Tottenham are continuing their search for a successor to Son Heung-min.

As such, Timo Werner's future could be interesting this summer. Werner is on loan from Leipzig until the end of the season. Spurs have the option to buy him outright, so it will be interesting to see what manager Angie Postecoglou decides to do.

Werner's departure and the winger he brings in could have an impact on Son Heung-min's performance next season. Werner's departure or which winger he brings in could affect Son's performance next season. He has the option of having a left winger, but he doesn"t have the reliability of Son Heung-min.

Having more left wingers means that Son will be more likely to play up front. If a central striker is brought in, Son will likely move back to the left. In any case, Tottenham are in desperate need of a long-term replacement for Son.
