Jang Jun and Park Woo-hyuk, Who Won Gold Medals in Hangzhou, Will Participate in the World Taekwondo Grand Prix

Jang Jun (Korea Gas Corporation) and Park Woo-hyuk (Samsung S-One), who won gold medals at the Hangzhou Asian Games, will now compete against top athletes from each country at the World Taekwondo Federation (WT) Grand Prix.

National team players such as Jang Jun and Park Woo-hyuk will participate in the third round of the 2023 WT Grand Prix held in Taiyuan, Shaanxi Province, China for three days starting on the 10th.

This is the third Grand Prix to be held this year, following the Rome, Italy competition last June and the Paris, France competition last month

It has been 9 years since the 2014 Suzhou Games that the WT Grand Prix will be held in China.

Jang Jun, who won the men's 58kg class in Taekwondo sparring at the Hangzhou Asian Games, will compete in the same weight class at this competition along with Taejun Park (Kyung Hee University) and Siyoon Kim (Yongin University).

Park Woo-hyuk, the men's 80kg gold medalist, also challenges to become the world's best in the same weight class.

Seo Geon-woo (Korea National Sport University), who teamed up with Park Woo-hyuk in the Asian Games mixed team event, competes in the 80kg class and this time meets Park Woo-hyuk as a competitor.

Jin Ho-jun (Suwon City Hall), who won the bronze medal in the men's 68kg class at the Asian Games, is aiming for the championship this time.

Jin Ho-jun participated in the Asian Games with the goal of winning a gold medal, but was defeated in the semifinals by Ulugbek Rashtov of Uzbekistan, a world-class powerhouse, with a round score of 0-2 (9-16 7-16).

Rashtov is a gold medalist at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics held in 2021.

In the men's 68kg class, Do-yoon Kwon (Korea National Sport University) and Sang-ryeol Lee (Yongin University) will compete against Ho-jun Jin.

Sang-hyeon Kang and Chan-hee Park (Korea National Sport University) will compete in the men's over 80kg division.

Kim Si-yoon (58 kg class), Lee Sang-ryeol (68 kg class), and Park Chan-hee (over 80 kg class) won the 2023 WT Grand Prix Challenge held in Muju, Jeollabuk-do last July and qualified for this competition.

In the women's division, Lee Da-bin (Seoul City Hall) will compete in the over-67kg division.

Bin, the star of women's taekwondo, lost to China's Zhou Zeqi in the finals of the Asian Games with a round score of 1-2 (9-8 2-9 8-21), earning her silver medal.

Women's 49kg class Kang Mir and Kang Bo-ra (Yeongcheon City Hall), 57kg class Lee Ah-reum (Goyang City Hall) and Lee Hanna (Daejeon High School), and 67kg class Hong Hyo-rim (Gangwon Physical Education High School) and Nam Min-seo (Korea National Sport University) will also participate.
