Best Privilege

Humans have the privilege of being able to do what they want. It is a privilege for us to do what we want and try to get what we want anytime and anywhere.

Thus, a person's daily happiness and satisfaction level can be measured by how often they excel in using this privilege in the following aspects:

Know what you want

To know yourself enough for you to easily identify your personal desires and the things important to you. Helps a person gain a clearer direction in their life, make better career choices, and be less prone to having an identity crisis.

Not-examples:
- But my parents said I should do this and I should want this.
- My friends say drugs and alcohol are important for them so it's important for me too.
- So many people like this thing, I want this too.

Feel what you want

To be accepting of your own emotions enough for you to remain honest with yourself and other people around you. Helps a person become more attuned to their personality, make quick decisions, and resolve their own problems faster.

Not-examples:
- Romance? Eeeew, so cringe and disgusting.
- Nooooo, sensual intercourse is bad!
- I am a nice person, I cannot be angry.

Think what you want

To be free and accepting of your thoughts enough for you to come up with new ideas about anything that interests you. Helps a person understand the essence of things better, tolerate different perspectives, and become more creative in all aspects.

Not-examples:
- It looks weird, so it probably doesn't work.
- That's so evil! We cannot think that!
- No, this is just plain impossible!!

Say what you want

To be understanding of the value of your ideas and opinions enough for you to say whatever you want while being mindful of other people's feelings. Helps a person deal with conflicts easily, create new relationships, and have awesome conversations with others.

Not-examples:
- But they might get hurt and be angry, noo!
- My teachers told me being talkative is bad.
- My parents told me I shouldn't complain or say anything.

Do what you want

To be free and relaxed enough to do whatever you want while being mindful of the consequences. Helps a person easily approach and converse with anyone, go outside their comfort zone, and do new things in life.

Not-examples: - I can't do this! I'm incompetent and I will fail!
- But what if? What if? What if? What if?
- I don't have any experience doing this so I can't do this.

How a person excels in these 5 aspects says a lot about their freedom, sense of identity, happiness, and well-being. We can try to visualize this on a radar chart, or even create a personality test that would automatically create a radar chart for them.

Self-Analysis

For me, I'm pretty good at knowing and thinking what I want, while I completely suck at feeling and saying what I want. When it comes to doing what I want, I'm moderately low.

Therefore, I'm a person with high freedom and organization only when it comes to knowledge and thoughts but says and does nothing most of the time.

My decision range is pretty far, believing that I can do anything if I set my mind to it, only that I rarely set my mind to anything.

Lifestyle

A person's life can be plotted on a two-dimensional cartesian plane with 2 axes depending on how they live their life.

For the first vertical axis, it attempts to answer the questions "how much do you try to control your life on an average day? and how much do you try to follow your heart on an average day?".

The structure of their daily life can either be Directive or Natural, the former has a more structured and rigid life, while the latter has a more impulsive and flexible life.

Directive

People with a Directive daily life are mostly focused on their long-term goals and dreams, then using every weapon in their productivity arsenal imbued with concentrated amounts of willpower to do whatever it takes to reach them.

Unlike those who have a Natural life, the more Directive a person is, the more likely they try to control and manage every aspect of their life to see that everything goes well and contributes to the attainment of their goals.

These people usually adhere to a solid daily routine that consists of multiple layers of habits and tasks that can't be disrupted or broken.

However, just because someone has a Directive daily life, doesn't mean they are super robots who only think of completing their tasks and nothing else. It just means that they are more focused on the goals they set than those with a Natural daily life.

If Natural daily life is like a flowing river that never stops flowing, the Directive daily life is more like an intricate powerful vehicle that's made to reach its destination as fast as possible.

Their life is similar to a giant fortress wall made through advanced techniques of manipulating pure willpower such that not even a single thought of procrastination and complaints can get through.

Natural

Those with a Natural life are mostly focused on dealing with their momentary desires and emotions, following their heart wherever it takes them without thinking too much of the consequences.

Unlike those Directive people who rely on willpower, the more Natural a person is with their daily life, the more often they try to go with the flow and live each day to the fullest.

These people usually have a very flexible routine or nothing at all, which allows them to easily adapt and deal with every unexpected situation that arises.

However, just because someone has a Natural daily life, this doesn't mean that they are expert procrastinators and pleasure seekers who do nothing but try to have fun all day. It just means that they are more focused on their relationships, hobbies, and desires than those with Directive daily life.

If the daily life of a Directive person is like a giant wall of an impregnable fortress, the daily life of a Natural person is like a river that flows endlessly to the ocean, they merely have to slightly alter the course of the river from time to time with little willpower as they unconsciously work to satisfy their heart's deepest desires.

Self vs Group

On the horizontal axis, it attempts to answer the questions "how much do you work for yourself in an average day? how much do you work for the sake of the group on an average day?".

A person's daily life can either be People-Oriented or Self-Oriented, where the former spends most of their day satisfying the needs and wants of the group while the latter spends most of their day satisfying the needs and wants of themselves.

People-Oriented

Those who live their daily life in a people-oriented way are known to care more about their groups than themselves, like parents, organization leaders, and business leaders.

They spend most of their day working with the group, striving to improve it, ensuring the group thrives and accomplish its objectives.

However, unless their group makes space for self-improvement, these people don't make progress or improve as much in their personal lives compared to those who are self-oriented.

It's only because of these people-oriented humans that some people can focus on themselves and become self-oriented. Without this kind of people, self-oriented people will have a more difficult time trying to reach independence.

Self-Oriented

Those who live their daily life in a self-oriented manner are known to spend most of their day improving and doing things for themselves, like martial artists, children, basement dwellers, and productivity enthusiasts.

They are more focused on their personal growth more than those who are people-oriented, ensuring that they make considerable progress on something every passing day.

It's not that they don't care about the group, it's that their skills and experience aren't good enough to provide direct support to the group, but they'll be able to support the group more by improving and caring for themselves until the time where they feel ready to work with the group.

These people aren't as selfish as one would think, it's just they focus more on the value of each individual than the entire group, starting with themselves.

It's only because of these self-oriented humans that every individual in the group can become skilled and experienced that serve as a foundation for the group which might become the next group-oriented people that will lead the group someday.

Comparison

None of the categories are better than their polar opposites, and this doesn't imply anything about their full personality. This is simply a neutral measurement of how people live their daily lives.

Interestingly, this chart is similar to the DISC diagram to identify people's communication style — Direct, Influential, Systematic, and Compliant.

Perhaps there's a positive correlation between a person's communication style and the way they live their daily life? We'll need to survey hundreds of people to properly answer this question.

Although these diagrams lie on a spectrum, it still seems very susceptible to the false dichotomy fallacy that doesn't consider the existence of being completely Natural and Directive at the same time, or being completely Self-oriented and People-oriented at the same time.

The possibility of being fire and water at the same time is extremely low, but it's still more than possible. Indeed, a person can become both Natural and Directive on the same day, or become both Self-oriented and People-oriented on the same day with enough dedication and practice.

When someone actually managed to do it, then that means their mastery of life has reached the Transcendental level or Enlightenment Level 6, where neither their personality nor daily life can be properly measured by any tool or diagram that exists.

Self-Analysis

From the above information, I can say that my daily life is a moderately low Natural and highly Self-oriented, since I allow myself to be flexible and become open to new experiences, but neither Natural enough to completely follow my heart nor Directive enough to consistently work on my goals.

My life is completely chill and mainly focused on self-improvement, though I'm not exactly a "go-with-the-flow" type of person because I can discipline myself sometimes when necessary, like sleeping early at night, waking early in the morning, and doing some exercise.

I find it extremely tedious and annoying to make a completely strict schedule and to-do list so I can't always work on my goals like highly Directive people, my willpower isn't strong enough to consistently use productivity tools either.

I'd like to become highly Natural someday where I can follow my heart and live to the fullest.

Conclusion

The new diagrams formulated in this article shall serve to help us further understand ourselves and other people, increasing analysis speed and become an important tool for self-improvement.

I shall call the radar chart about the privilege thingy as "Self-Mastery Chart", since it's not just about the person's desires, but it's focused on measuring the person's ability to express and utilize their full personality by knowing, feeling, thinking, saying, and doing what they want.

In other words, it's a non-official measurement chart of a person's personality expression level.

Then for the cartesian plane about the average person's daily life, it should be made with the Directive on the top arrow, Natural on the bottom arrow, Self-oriented on the right arrow, and Group-oriented on the bottom arrow.

I shall call it the "Daily Life Coordinates", since it's a simple measurement of a person's average daily life.

Types of Psychological Tests

While writing this article, I realized that there are two main types of psychological tests:

One that tries to measure a person's personality from the inside, based on what they think or feel about themselves, explaining their outside behavior.

The other one tries to measure a person's behavior from the outside, based on what they do or how other people see them, explaining their inside personality.

It's unfortunate, but neither of these two main types of tests are free of bias, since one cannot perfectly predict what's inside of the box judging only from the outside, and one cannot perfectly predict the look of the container judging only from the inside.

The two main types of psychological tests I mentioned are just a kind of "measure-predict" test, whose practical value and objectives are completely based on how well it can predict a person's personality or behavior depending on the measurement of the other.

There's also the "observe-predict" but this isn't a test since there's nothing to measure, this kind of stuff belongs to the domain of social engineering or criminal psychology where there's no time to make a person take a psychological test.

The one with the least bias would be the "measure-measure" whose only purpose is for completely accurate measurement" of both the person's personality and behavior while being able to *detect any discrepancies between the behavior and personality, measuring the person's level of cognitive dissonance.

Final Remarks

It is because of the diversity of human life and personalities that make a functional society possible. The strength of one covers the weaknesses of the other, and the one with plenty provides for those who are lacking.

In this way, our differences pave the way for a better civilization and opens the path for countless possibilities.

We may be completely different from each other in terms of most categories and measurements, but there is one thing" we are equal with — *our imperfections, the common bond that we share along with every person in the world.

It is not the group with the same personalities and perspectives that reaches the top, but the group with the highest level of diversity and acceptance among its members.
