CourseKata Professional Learning - Winter 2021

STUDY GROUPS

A CourseKata Study Group is the best way to get started teaching CourseKata Statistics and Data Science. Instructors work through the book as students and participate in a remote class (one hour per chapter) led by an expert instructor.

We'll meet weekly on Thursdays from January 13 through February 17, 4-5pm (PT). We'll take on a new chapter each week, from Chapter 1 to 6. [Register here] (https://ucla.zoom.us/meeting/register/tJEsfuygqj8pEtJXLR0Hv1o89EgquoFxGax6)

WORKSHOPS

Modern Statistics and Data Science for Community Colleges

Are you a statistics instructor who is interested in data science? We invite you to come and learn about how modern data science could be integrated into an introductory statistics course at a two-year college. In this two part workshop series you will learn about the free CourseKata online interactive textbook and in-class lessons that seamlessly integrate learning statistical concepts with learning to code with R in Jupyter notebooks, tools employed by working data scientists. Experience a bit of the course from the student perspective (both the textbook and the in-class pedagogy) and the teacher perspective (the pedagogy, tools, and teaching resources curated by the CourseKata community).

New workshops posted soon.
