STUDY GROUPS

A CourseKata Study Group is the best way to get started teaching CourseKata Statistics and Data Science. In the study group, you'll go through the content of the course as a student would. We will meet regularly (via Zoom), and we will work through activities together that you can also use with your students. We welcome you to join a cohort that best fits your schedule.

SERIES I AND II STUDY GROUPS

SERIES I

An introductory study group series that will focus on the content of chapters 1-6 of Book AB (Link to description of Books). This study group series is designed for instructors that are just getting started with CourseKata, or are just curious about CourseKata, or for experienced instructors who just want a "refresher" course. We start new introductory study group cohorts every quarter (Fall, Winter, Spring, and Summer).

What we cover in a Series I study group:

  • Day 1: Introduction to CourseKata
  • Day 2: Chapter 1
  • Day 3: Chapter 2
  • Day 4: Chapter 3
  • Day 5: Chapter 4
  • Day 6: Chapter 5
  • Day 7: Chapter 6
  • Day 8: Setting up your LMS
  • Day 9: Pacing and Grading

SERIES II

An advanced study group series that will focus on the content of Book XCD (Link to description of Books). This study group is designed for instructors that are preparing to teach with Book XCD, or for instructors who are just curious to learn more about multivariate models. We offer this series in Summer.

What we cover in a Series II study group:

  • Day 1: Chapters 1-3 (XCD)
  • Day 2: Chapters 4-5 (XCD)
  • Day 3: Chapter 6 (XCD)
  • Day 4: Chapter 7 (XCD)
  • Day 5: Chapter 8 (XCD)
  • Day 6: Chapters 9-10 (XCD)

Each study group cohort is named after a unique plant or animal species!

WORKSHOPS

We also offer Workshops for all stages of teaching with these materials. Some are targeted to help you get started with the materials, and others are targeted for current or experienced instructors looking for additional skills or resources. All are welcome!

We also invite you to use this link to let us know what types of workshops you are looking for!
