WOORI BANK DEFEATS HARVEST, PARK JI-HYUN STEELED FOR NO.1 RANKING

Park Ji-hyeon overtook the competition to become the No. 1 in steals.

Woori Bank lost 57-71 to Busan BNK in their final regular-season game at Busan Sajik Gymnasium on Nov. 25.

Woori, which has clinched second place, played without Kim Dan-bi and Lee Myung-kwan, who suffered minor injuries, while BNK, playing its final home game of the season, was determined to win.

Woori lost control of the game midway through the first quarter when Ahn Hye-ji scored 10 consecutive points, and ended the second quarter down 24-46.

The game was effectively over.

Woori had to be satisfied with closing the gap and finishing the game.

If there was one bright spot in the loss, it was Park Ji-hyun’s four steals (27 points, seven rebounds, four assists).

Prior to this game, Park was in a tight battle with Kim Dan-bi (Woori Bank) and Lee Hae-ran (Samsung Life Insurance) for the top spot in steals.

Kim Dan-bi, who was third with an average of 1.68, was absent. Park needed to close the gap on Lee Hae-ran, who was second in steals with an average of 1.74.

After recording just one steal in the first half, Park went for the steal in the second half, but her defense broke down and she allowed a three-pointer.
