PSG return medical test 'imminent to join team training'

PSG announced on the club's official channel on the 23rd (Korea time) that "Lee Kang-in returned to the team for training on the 22nd." Lee Kang-in returned to France after enjoying a sufficient vacation after the South Korean national soccer team helped advance to the third qualifying round in the Asian region for the 2026 North-China World Cup. Lee Kang-in underwent a pre-season medical test, which the team has traditionally conducted. In the afternoon, he moved to the training center and trained at the gym. Lee Kang-in announced that he will start team training with the players soon.
Lee Kang-in played in the North-China U.S. World Cup qualifiers after the season. Since then, he has been doing personal training with vacation in Mallorca, Spain. As Lee Kang-in's joining in PSG was delayed, rumors of a transfer were circulating.

Recently, Magpie Media reported that "Newcastle, a member of the English Premier League (EPL), sent an official inquiry to PSG to recruit Lee Kang-in. The newly appointed director Paul Mitchell has made Lee Kang-in a dream target in the transfer market." Newcastle reportedly prepared £40 million in transfer fees to recruit Lee Kang-in. Lee Kang-in is also said to be receiving interest from Napoli (Italy). French media Foot Mercato said, "PSG wants to recruit Victor Osimhen. He is also considering a trade. The only player Napoli is interested in is Lee Kang-in."

Amid rumors of a transfer, Lee Kang-in expressed his position himself. He posted a photo of his training on his personal social media (social network service). Along with a solid physical photo, he also wrote, "SOON."

Lee Kang-in joined PSG training as previously announced. In the medical test released by PSG, Lee Kang-in attached a sensor to his body, wore a "mesh T-shirt" and ran a running machine for a physical test. In addition, when asked, "Are you ready for the new season, but this is not yet," Lee Kang-in said, smiling embarrassingly at the "mesh T-shirt" he wore.

Lee Kang-in made his debut in France wearing PSG's uniform during the 2023-2024 season. He won the French Ligue 1, the Coupe de France (French Cup), and the Trope de Champion (French Super Cup). In particular, he scored the finishing goal to win the MVP of the event at the Super Cup. Lee left three goals and four assists in the French league in his first season, one goal and one goal in the European Champions League (UCL), and one goal in the Super Cup. He scored double-digit offensive points with five goals and five assists in official matches.

Lee Kang-in will conquer the 2024-2025 season with an away game against Le Havre on August 19.
