What do these things have in common?  They work so smoothly together, it makes you wonder why everything isn't this easy?

JS8Call is barely out of BETA testing and it's proven rock solid, easy to use and quickly has become my favorite digital mode. I haven't even begun to see it's potential but look forward to going deeper under the hood this coming year.

This "guide" assumes that you are already running a Ten-Tec Eagle (TT-599) on Linux Mint 19 (any Ubuntu based distro should work also) and have a SignaLink USB and all hardware is connected properly.

Unlike FLDigi where I use FLRig for rig control, I prefer the JS8Call Software to run CAT control on the rig as it simply works.

Just identify your audio source to the /dev/ttyUSB your connected to and you are good to go.

Setting up the CAT control is straight forward, just select the TT-599 Eagle from the drop down list, set to max baud rate (56700 on the Eagle) and the rest as found in your manual.

Once you initialize these settings, you should see everything talking and controlling!
