Yuki Tsunoda (24), Japan's only Formula One (F1) driver, will run the F1 circuit as a member of RB (formerly Scuderia Alpha Tauri) until 2025.

RB announced on the 9th (Korean time) that it had activated the contract extension option with Tsunoda.

Tsunoda, who has been behind the wheel of the RB machine since 2021, will play for this team until 2025.

RB coach Laurent Mequis said, "Tsunoda's phenomenal development this season is impressive," adding, "With his undoubted natural speed and experience, he is showing consistent performance and acting as an excellent team player."

Tsunoda said, “I’m glad that RB believes that I can help them move to greater heights.”

Tsunoda is the 21st Japanese F1 driver of all time and the only active Japanese driver.

It is loved by fans in Japan, the country with the highest popularity of motorsports in Asia.

Until last season, there were many cases where races were ruined by too reckless driving, but this season, with a more mature performance, the team has been consistently ranking in the top 10.

RB is Red Bull's 'B Team' that ranks first in both the driver (Max Verstappen) and constructor (team) rankings this season.

Young drivers who stand out at RB are often promoted to Red Bull.

Redball and RB receive their engines from Japanese automobile company Honda.

Meanwhile, Zhou Guanyu (Sauber), China's first F1 driver, ranks 19th this season.
