Taking a morning nap, I experienced my first nightmare this year. Of course, it happened when I already woke up but tried to sleep again because there's still a lot of time.
So at first, the dream is simple. I was living, more like managing and ruling a demonic city. Children here are taught freedom from birth so they are cunning and smart little kids. For some reason, I have myself a soulless body of a good looking nobleman which I can use at any moment. I was studying it and remembered that if I use it and die while using it, then the spell embedded within it will allow my soul to immediately return back to my body. I was thinking about its possible uses when suddenly a large greyish thing covered in a gray blanket appeared out of nowhere, it kept pushing me and when I tried to push it back, it was very strong. When I got cornered and about to get crushed, the nightmare started.
I thought it was just a prank by someone but the blanket was suddenly removed and a jumpscare suddenly hit me. A large ominous hazy screaming wailing entity is directly in front of me and overwhelming me in every way possible, shaking both my body and mind, trying to scare my shitless so it can possess me or something. At first, I was so surprised and wanted to leave the dream immediately, only to realize that it has turned into a nightmare and you cannot leave a nightmare unless you are forcefully woken up by someone, the nightmare ends, or if you defeated the nightmare. So after a few seconds, I was like "holy shit, I'm actually having a nightmare? This nightmare must be so ducking stupid not to know that I'm the Nightmare Killer, that is, I personally beat up and destroy all my nightmares and I have rarely lost. And this nightmare look so ducking ugly and weird, why the duck was it hiding in a gray blanket? And what's with this incomprehensible ghastly appearance that I will not be able to remember nor articulate after I woke up? Hmm I see, I see. So nightmares begin when there's something weird in a person's dream that doesn't belong in that dreamworld, and when you closely examined that anomaly, the anomaly explodes and threatens to shatter the dreamworld."
After several seconds, the nightmare was still screaming and shaking my existence as if I'm a maracas. However, I have already calmed down, so I'm experimenting on the various ways I can deal with this nightmare. First, I tried to touch it and use my superpowers, unfortunately, I can't find my body nor move any muscle. However, just by trying to do something and resisting, I can feel the nightmare is getting weaker. Then I tried to imagine the nightmare becoming smaller and smaller until its form disappeared. It really disappeared but the echoes of its screams are still here and I'm still being shaken. Then I resisted with all my might and crushed its remaining presence like the Nightmare Killer I am. That poor guy must have been uninformed and trolled by his friends, because most nightmares already know not to ever touch me, as I have been undefeated by nightmares several years now.
Still, it was amusing and ridiculous. To think a nightmare tried to challenge me after a long while, is this a bad omen? Well, they should bring it on all at the same time. I'm getting bored anyway.
