Previously, I have wrote about the paths and roads to success, that the current economy and knowledge is mostly based on relationships, and you will never be successful by effort alone.
So this time, I'm going to write about the vehicles of success — the most effective things we can do to ride down the paths of success and get to our destination in less than an hour.
I've been thinking, that if success is mostly based on relationships, then that means that there are three most effective vehicles we can get for having a smooth road trip to success.
Those who are in their late 20s can stay on the lookout for potentially bright and incredible young personalities that they can mentor and assist in their career, providing them with opportunities and giving them the environment they need to use their skills.
These young students will be severely lacking in industry knowledge and technological currents controlling the position and movements of opportunities, but they have a lot of potential. They are like an untapped massive source of oil, and you're like a large oil plant who has amassed enough knowledge and experience to collect as much oil as possible.
There's no need for you to ask for anything. Just be there, always available for them, giving them career opportunities and treating them to free lunch once in a while. Soon enough, your student will shine so bright and you will be the first one who will benefit from it. This is the power of "Calculated Generosity", an extremely profitable investment.
I still have no exact idea on how karma and generosity works. I only know that it works, but I don't know how it works. I cannot fathom how giving something to others will actually increase your resources and not deplete them. You cannot guarantee reciprocity after all.
Those who are in their early 20s and below but has more life and freedom than your average middle-aged person can take the opposite vehicle of the one stated above and find someone else to mentor them instead.
Unfortunately, this is difficult, even impossible for the average normal person. However, these bright youngsters aren't average nor normal at all in any way. The power of a single, simple, and sincere request can change the lives of thousands of people forever.
If you're one of these youngsters, then surely it won't be so difficult for you to have enough courage and determination that matches your potential. Use these flame of yours to attract moths, thinking that you are a bright and nice light, only to devour them on the end and have your flame grow stronger.
You must have them thinking that they are riding on you, and that you can guarantee their investment on you, that way, you can gain access to otherwise hidden shortcuts to success.
This one is the most common vehicle to success that most people use. It involves being part of a tightly-knit social group other than family in which one of their goals is career advancement. It may not be as prestigious nor fast as the previous vehicles of success mentioned above, but this is the most reliable one above all three of them.
Since there are always more than two people involved, the greatest advantage that this vehicle have is their numbers. Each individual may not be as experienced or knowledgeable, but collectively, they have a lot of resources and can produce much more effort than other one-on-one relationships.
Prominent examples are the old career and job hunting clubs, the professional executives association, and proactive friend groups. These groups are based on the idea of give and take, where sharing of useful information and ideas is the habit, allowing their members to grow from one another.
However, these kind of groups don't usually do well without a leader. Every group needs a head, someone who will make the final decision, take the blame, and keep the group alive even if the members are leaving. A good leader knows to turn any random group into an unforgettable one.
There are plenty of other groups out there, but these three are the most beneficial ones when it comes to success and career advancement. After all, success is a matter of relationships, neither effort nor time.
Basically, those who aspires to be successful must have at least one of the vehicles to success above so they can take the path to success. Anyone who doesn't have any vehicle must keep looking for all three types and not tunnel their vision obsessing over a single solution.
Always look out for interesting people with high potential, they can either be your mentee or your mentor depending on their age. Look out for healthy and happy ordinary people as well, they may belong to a group that can change your life forever. Keep watch of your surroundings, as every person is a gate to an entirely new set of of experienced and opportunities.
If you want opportunities, don't look for events, job postings, or wait for a miracle — look for people instead, or better yet, groups of people.
