Ugh I can't take an afternoon nap for some reason so I just closed my eyes for an hour
I'm pretty confident in my [Adaptation] skill. To survive whatever the environment is. The worse things get, the most focused and motivated I become. But what if the environment isn't bad at all? That's when you find out what the skill actually wins.
[Adaptation] basically means, to survive within the bare minimum of effort the environment requires. So if the bare minimum increases, I can still meet it thanks to this skill. No matter how high the bare minimum requires for survival increases, I'd still meet it almost effortlessly. Now some of you might have already understood. What if the bare minimum is too low or almost non-existent?
Then this happens. I become an extremely lazy human being who wastes their time all day long, procrastinating on almost every task. Playing games, binge reading manwhas, the usual. And now my brain is ridiculously fried. Doing such fun things have become boring. They have almost stopped being enjoyable, often only serving as a mere distraction. After several days of living like a potato, my right shoulder is now aching.
It would be so much easier to become homeless. Just walking all day long, wandering to nowhere, passing out on the streets, and occasionally doing some insane stuff. I'd still live a long time because of my skill. Should I just start my third homeless run? How pointless. I have no justification for that yet. Every single one of my homeless runs have sufficient justifications based on unexpected circumstances.
Ugh why they didn't wash the pillow cover. They literally skipped it at least three times. How come they washed every clothes but skipped my favorite pillow cover? Annoyin. I had to hand wash it myself. I'll go buy a mini garbage can for my room too. I really want an ocarina. Should I sell my emergency assets for that? Lol it's not what you're thinking, my emergency assets are less than $20.
Sigh.. how do I even begin to unfry my brain? My thoughts have become so much slower and scattered. My social skills have almost returned to square one. I keep forgetting things and creativity feels so far away.
Thought injection. That's what I think whenever someone deliberately tries to influence a person or a group of people. Almost all social interaction guides I made are full of thought injection techniques. Especially the Ten Thousand Questions one. That's why I don't use them anymore, except a few stuff for the sake of self-expression. Lmao I didn't become nicer. I just got.. a little lazier and perhaps damaged. That's right, self-expression without any expectation from the other party does not constitute a thought injection. It needs to be intentional and purposeful to qualify.
There's this lame military like organization I've recently joined as a volunteer. It was interesting as first because their test questions are open-ended and smart. However, it's rather hilarious in their human resource management. They asked someone about their real talents without telling them what they expect or need from them. AND THEN NEXT MOMENT, THEY TELL THEM TO DO SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGEMENT AND LEARN IMAGE EDITING FOR THE SAKE OF MARKETING! HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA they might as well feed the test papers to the dogs. How stupid and desperate do HRs have to be that they'll hire a chef and give them a customer support role? So yeah, I accidentally and unfortunately ghosted them.
I tried my best though. Well, I barely tried. Those two do not contradict. Marketing is a direct form of thought injection. Perhaps one of the most disgusting ones. Don't get me wrong, accurate self-promotion and self-expression is wonderful. But conventional marketing? Inciting specific feelings and thoughts for the sake of recognition association, without taking any form of responsibility or commitment? I am literally, physically, incapable of such thing. Well, I did try it in virtual environments more than a few times. But when I tried it in real life, I failed so spectacularly that my second homeless run started immediately. Now I don't wanna try it even in virtual environments anymore.
With that, my social skills plunged to the abyss. Without any form of thought injection, the only way I can improve my social skills now is through the development of self-expression. What a bother. One of the most terrible things about this build is that the character often ends up making a huge commitment to some pointless promises. The stupid character takes responsibility for everything that they didn't add a disclaimer beforehand. And you know what's absolutely hilarious? They stretch all those promises and responsibilities all the way to eternity. So if you have this build, don't let your character get too close to anyone or make promises about random stuff. Find excuses to lower their social skills too.
Hmm I need to somehow repair the damages. Should I workout every morning? The problem with that is I'll need to consume more food. The food they prepare won't be enough. I'll have to cook. And I'm wayyy too lazy for that. Being seen while cooking sounds annoying too. Next. Should I.. go to park every morning and afternoon? It's not bad. My productivity would increase and.. right, the chances of random events would increase. 7 to 9 and 3 to 6? I'll have no wifi outside. I won't be able to procrastinate as freely. And the random events increase is so minimal unless you live in a special city or an expressive country. Hm whatever, it won't hurt to try, I suppose. Let's make it every other day to make it easier.
Btw guys I forgot to tell y'all something funny. So we attended this large church that's highly organized. My parents even got invited to the backdoor to sign some papers and get free services. They took my name and number too. Interestingly, we didn't attend that church ever again. The people who were so eager to get my number and social media name never contacted me even once. What could have happened? I was soo looking forward to the random event. I smell a conspiracy.
Hm I wonder if it's possible to learn echolocation from youtube. There must have been hours long courses out there. Wow there's no hours long courses, I just checked. They're all less than 30 minutes. How lame, I'll teach all my future students echolocation, that when they graduate, they'll be able to cross the streets and live perfectly even with their eyes closed. For now, I'll go watch the few videos and websites they have about it. Hmm I should be able to use some free time around lunchtime and before sleeping for this skill acquisition activity.
This writing is too short. Let me squeeze a similar short unpublished thing, to create the illusion of a full-length article. Oh, I just remembered.. I should write an email to my future self 6 years later. It should be more fun than reading manwhas.
I've been rather lazy and complacent these days. It's all nice and well that we trust our dreams, but is it enough to reach them? Is having a colossal and noble dream enough for it to come true? Is daydreaming and waiting for an opportunity to happen enough to turn dreams into reality? Well, it could be. But our greed won't let us leave such things to fate, would it?
Trading. Trading. Working. What are these pathetic words? We've been stuck with them for decades already, isn't there anything new? Did you forget? We are the god of possibilities, not the god of probabilities. We are the god of gambling, not the god of 9-5. Why crawl through the mud when you can FALL from the sky?
I'm not just imagining it. There's really something in the early morning breeze and night winds that can sedate the maddening lust for victory. We don't need that to be victorious, we're not an ExTJ after all. What may seem like vitamins and medicines for others can be poisonous for you.
Those that came to fear the known shall find comfort in the unknown. The path we take isn't the easiest or most difficult. It's difficulty is unknown, nothing worth discussing about, but it is always worth exploring. And that's what we're going to do. A life and destiny that is ours and ours alone is worth more than any comfort can buy. Better to be an emperor of cardboards than a servant of gold.
Always be super duper careful of where you give your commitments to. The promises we make, even in the context of casual play or said in passing, tend to be something of really high quality and extreme purity. They bind us with powerful binding power that makes them well-nigh impossible to ignore and unthinkably difficult to break. What's even more ridiculous is that when the situation or the person changes, our promises remain the same. We may forget what we ate for lunch today but forgetting promises is.. impossible to us for some reason.
There's nothing more satisfying, than attempting to reach beyond and comprehend the unknown. May our victoriea come from the unknown, not from the maddening and forceful obsessions with the known.
