Hwang Yoo-min, who laughed in the long hit match, won his first victory of the season

Hwang Yoo-min shot a 1-under 71 in the final round of the KLPGA Tour Doosan E&C Weave Championship (total prize money of 1.2 billion won) at Teddy Valley Golf & Resort (par 72) in Seogwipo, Jeju Island on the 7th to win a total of 14-under 274.

The Doosan E&C Weave Championship is the first competition held in Korea this season by the KLPGA Tour.

Hwang Yoo-min, who won his third tournament this season, won his second career championship in nine months since the Women's Open in July last year.

Hwang Yoo-min, who beat Park Hye-jun by one stroke, received 216 million won in prize money, ranking first (252.66 million won) and occupied the top spot in the grand prize.

Hwang Yoo-min, who was a rookie last year with a strong and fast swing despite his small physique of 163 centimeters, ranked second in the long hit category and earned the nickname "Assault Captain" for his aggressive play, won the championship after facing tall long hitters for four days in particular.

In the first and second rounds, he returned to the lead with an eight-shot victory after a round with Yoon Na, the No. 1 slugger in 2022, and Bang Shin-sil, the No. 1 slugger last year.

Yoon Na-na and Bang Shin-sil are both players who hit long balls from a height of more than 170 centimeters.

In the third round, he took a two-shot lead after facing Moon Jung-min, who was third in the long hit last year.

Moon Jung-min also hits a long hit from a tall height of 171 centimeters.

Park Hye-joon and Kang Ji-sun, who played in the championship group with Hwang Yoo-min in the final round, are also well over 170 centimeters tall and long hitters. Park Hye-joon is 177 centimeters tall, the longest in the KLPGA tour, and Kang Ji-sun is 171 centimeters tall.

In other words, he beat one of the most long hitters in the KLPGA tour throughout the four days.

Hwang Yoo-min, who came out in the final round with a two-shot lead over Park Hye-joon, Kang Ji-sun and Moon Jung-min, had to play a difficult game as his shot was shaken.

He wrote down consecutive bogeys on the 2nd (par 4) and the 3rd hole (par 3) to give Park Hye-joon the lead, who made a birdie on the 1st hole (par 4).

Hwang Yoo-min, who turned the mood to a 1.2m birdie on the 4th hole (par 5), returned to the lead with a 3m birdie on the 6th hole (par 4) and made a difficult 5m distance birdie putt on the 9th hole (par 4) to run again by two strokes.

When Park Hye-joon lost one shot with a three-putt bogey on the 10th hole (par 4), Hwang Yoo-min had a three-shot margin.

However, Hwang Yu-min's shot shook sharply.

The tee shots missed left and right on the 10th, 12th, and 13th holes, well off the fairway.

Fortunately, the ball came down the slope and did not interfere with his next shot, but Hwang Yoo-min's swing was already disorganized.

Park Hye-joon followed with an eagle-sung birdie on the 13th hole (par 5) and a 2-meter birdie on the 14th hole (par 3), up to one stroke.

It was putt that saved Hwang Yu-min from the crisis.

He put in a 3.5m par putt on the 12th hole (par 4), and after missing the green on the 15th hole (par 5), he put in a 3.5m par putt.

Hwang Yoo-min, whose tee shot was also far behind to the right in the 18th hole (par 4), had his second shot over the green, but he stuck it on the hole from 15 meters with a putter from the fringe to solidify his victory.

As Park Hye-joon's 5-meter birdie putt missed, Hwang Yoo-min's victory was confirmed.

Park Hye-joon, who first took the KLPGA Tour stage in 2022 and failed to rank 71st in the prize money rankings and entered her second season of the KLPGA Tour last year with eighth place in the Dream Tour prize money rankings, made a strong impression with her best performance since her debut in her first tournament in Korea.

Park Hye-joon was the highest ranking in the joint 10th place twice at the 2022 Lotte Open and KLPGA Championship.

Kang Ji-sun, who lost three shots in the early stages, including a double bogey at the first hole (par 4) and was pushed back from the championship race early, later made four birdies to tie for third place (12-under 276).

Park Hyun-kyung, who shot 3-under 69, finished the tournament tied for third place with Kang Ji-sun.

Lee Ye-won, the defending champion, tied for 42nd (1-under 287).

Yoon In-na, who participated in the KLPGA Tour for the first time in a year and nine months after suspension of Ogu Play, finished her successful return match by tying for 34th (2-under 286).

Shin finished the tournament tied for 31st (3-under 285).
