We.. have gotten a little bit complacent lately.
Sleeping at 1. Waking up at 11. No afternoon naps. For several weeks. Can we.. really afford this kind of lifestyle? For how long?
The only reason we can keep living like this is because society and biology designed things such that the grown-ups will provide to the younger ones and the incapable. We're no longer young anymore, we're simply.. the latter.
There's no telling how long this peace can last. As long as every food, water, and clothing we consume didn't come from the fruits of our curiosity, we should not be too comfortable with the way things are.
One of my favorite lines in video game comes from my favorite social deduction game. One of its characters has a starting voiceline of "Curiosity makes money!!"
And I, in all seriousness, couldn't agree more.
(Even if the amount of money I lost from curiosity had been several times greater than the amount of money I earned.)
This world... is beautiful. Yet I dislike what it has become. The resulting beauty has been so thoroughly processed, calculated, and mass-produced that it has become impossible to distinguish its original beauty. It's like a multi-colored clay that has been mixed and mixed by toddlers that the only thing left is a hardened dark brown lump of dirt. Our goal then, is not to find, but to restore the original beauty of the world.
A society that assumes providing for others is an implicit permission to exploit them is not a good one. If the hand that feeds you is also the hand that strangles you, then one is more than welcome to bite it, by all means.
We... are not here to seek for treasures. No. The beauty I'm seeking is not a treasure, not a secret. No, no, my dear comrade, it is everywhere. Rather.. it used to be everywhere. AND IT SHALL BE EVERYWHERE ONCE MORE.
That's why, for our next destination.. WE'RE GOING TO..!
