'Missing the Chairman'... Klinsmann's 'Mild' Dominance

The Korea Football Association held an emergency executive meeting behind closed doors today.

After looking back at the Asian Cup, which ended in a poor match, we also discussed coach Klinsmann's future, and it was reported that the opinions of the replacement side prevailed in the meeting.

Chairman Chung Mong-gyu, who returned to Korea the day before yesterday after watching the Asian Cup final, did not attend today's meeting, unlike every Tuesday.

In front of the association building, a protest called for Klinsmann's dismissal and Chung's resignation, and a civic group filed a complaint with the police on charges of coercion and obstruction of business, saying Chung interfered with the association's work with a unilateral decision during the appointment of Klinsmann.

The association will hold a power reinforcement committee the day after tomorrow, where full-fledged discussions will take place on Klinsmann's future.

Contrary to what he said he would analyze the results of the Asian Cup with the association, Klinsmann, who has already left the country two days after returning, will also attend by video.

Since the Power Enhancement Committee is not a voting body, the decision is up to Chairman Chung's choice.

The replacement will result in a penalty equivalent to the remaining salary of the contract period, and the remaining salary of Klinsmann, the coach and the so-called "Klinsmann Division," who signed until the 2026 World Cup, is known to be 10 billion won, more than 5% of the KFA's one-year budget.
