Cool Hardware

Here I'm gonna list physical things that pretty much changed my everyday life, next to a price I paid. I'll leave the shopping to you. It's gonna be very based here on out, enjoy! Share your gamechangers if you like!

๐ŸŽง Earbuds

Kiwi Ears Dolce (26 Euro) image

Simple earbuds that hooks with the wire and delivers a comfy V shaped output.

Your phone does not have a headphone jack? Let's go with that:

Earfun Air S (30 Euro) image

Doesn't have the same clarity as above, but this wireless thing is really nice and phone calls are comfy. Looking at the price you might not expect it, but it does have ANC and transparency as well.

๐Ÿ”ฆ Flashlight

Sofirn SC31 Pro (30 Euro) image

Actually, any flashlight that takes a 18650 battery will do but Sofirn are good people.

๐ŸŽฎ Game Controller

8Bitdo Ultimate Bluetooth (60 Euro) image

The reason why you did not experience stick drift on the Sega Dreamcast is because they employed magnetic sticks that don't wear out, due to no friction. Nobody followed up due to corporal greed, until 8Bitdo put this controller on the market. It has native support for Switch and PC, and comes with a charging dock.

๐ŸŽง Headphones

Samson SR850 (40 Euro) image

These are open, over ear monitors with a linear response. EQ tune them if you want to use them for gaming/music.

๐Ÿ”Œ Remote Controlled Power Outlets

Any Radio Outlets and a Remote (10 Euro for a 2 pack) image

Our garden pump in the basement isn't really smart: It did not come with a pressure switch, meaning the pump does not turn off when you close the valve in the garden. Radio outlets to the rescue!

๐Ÿ‘Ÿ Shoe Inserts

Any gel shoe inserts (8 Euro) image

Turn virtually any shoe into something comfortable, which is invaluable for work shifts and longer hikes. The sort I usally get is dm's in-house Balea, there's also the more widespread Scholl but it's more expensive.

๐Ÿ”Š Speakers and Amplifier

Any speaker amplifier with TPA3116D2 (from 15 Euro) image

Pair this with old speakers from your basement or thrift store and a 12V Adapter from the Halogen age, boom: You've got yourself a solid stereo home theater!

Let Alec show you how it's done

โœ๏ธ Stylus

Any stylus with a disc tip (10 Euro for a 5 pack) image

I used to dislike the stylus because they all seemed to have a rubber tip. Friction was my enemy. I noticed some weird looking ones with a disc tip and hoo boy there's little to no friction. Thumbs up.

โŒš Wristwatch

Casio GW-M5610 (70 Euro) image

When people say "Smartwatch", you bet I have a different interpretation that did not change for the past 10 years. This fine GW-M5610 shows the time, stops time, wakes ya up, and is auto backlit. You never have to charge it, because it bears ancient solar cells no one speaks of anymore, and you never have to set the time because it receives radio signals once a day. Oh and you can go diving with it. (20bar)
