Hwang Ui-jo's mysterious behavior... Threatening women who were victims of illegal filming?

The unexplained behavior of soccer player Hwang Ui-jo (Norwich City FC)'s brother is raising questions.

On the 15th, Channel A reported that Hwang's brother sent direct messages to the victimized women and threatened them.

According to the report, Hwang Ui-jo's brother sent the women a photo of a video captured by Hwang Ui-jo in May.

The photo sent by Mr. A captured the woman in a naked video call with Hwang Ui-jo.

He wrote to the woman, "Is this you? Uijo has many women. I will post the photo soon," and threatened her.

On the same day, Mr. A also sent a threatening message to Hwang Ui-jo, along with a captured image of a sexual encounter, the media said.

"I have a lot of videos of you. You have a lot of women, what will happen if this video is released?" and "These are a few taster photos, look forward to the upload," the message said.

The Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office arrested and charged A on Aug. 8 with filming and distributing a video using a camera under the Sexual Violence Punishment Act and threatening retaliation.

Earlier, in June, A exposed Hwang's private life on Instagram. Ms. A claimed that Hwang had illegally filmed dozens of women by gaslighting them and kept the videos without their consent.

It is not known how Ms. A obtained the videos.

On the 14th, it was revealed that Hwang Ui-jo and Ms. A had hired the same law firm, sparking another controversy. In response, Hwang's law firm denied providing any kind of assistance to Mr. A.

Mr. A's first court date is scheduled for January 8th.

Separate from A's threatening case, Hwang is being investigated for violating the Special Act on the Punishment of Sexual Violence Crimes (filming with a camera).

Hwang claims that the video was taken with the consent of the other party. In order for Hwang to be found guilty of a crime, it must be confirmed that he filmed the subject against their will, so it is necessary to closely examine the conflicting claims of Hwang and the victim.

The Korean Football Association has stated that it will not select Hwang Ui-jo for the national team pending the outcome of the investigation.
