Province and allow casinos and bars to renew their operations.

In late December last year, Quebec imposed new health restrictions on many businesses, including the casino industry, which was required to close gaming facilities. The decision of the local government was made because an unprecedented situation occurred in the province, which was able to slow the spread.

Casino Lacraymi officially resumed operations on Monday, February 28, 2022, after being suspended for two months, a local government order came into effect. Under the new protocol, casinos can operate with up to 50% of sponsors, requiring both guests and staff to wear masks while in the hotel.

The Gatino Game Center is open from 9 a.m. to 1 a.m. every day from this Monday. Despite some health restrictions being lifted, customers will still have to present their vaccination passports and valid photo ID to enter the facility. Masks are also mandatory, the casino says.

According to management, Casino Lacremi also offers meal amenities because customers can now use Banco Bistro and Arom: Seafood and Grill for meals. According to the provincial protocol, food and alcohol can be served until 12 a.m. Live entertainment at the property will also be suspended until further notice.

Quebec announced this month that it will further ease its health and safety protocols. From March 14, 2022, all entertainment establishments, including casino accommodation, will be able to welcome guests with maximum capacity. In addition, the province plans to lift the requirement for vaccine passports if health indicators continue to improve.

Troubleshooting Contracts
Earlier this year, the Gatineau gaming facility finally settled a dispute with its employees. Union CUPE 3892 representing 300 casino workers announced the ratification of the Lotto-Québec tentative agreement in late January, which calls for higher wages for employees. The Crown Corporation proposal was approved by 96% of the staff in favor.

December controversy
In December 2021, Casino Lakremi was in trouble when a radio-Canada investigation found the property had failed to properly impose local health and safety measures. The survey found that many customers at the venue did not wear protective masks, while employees did not warn them to wear them again.
