According to the Incheon International Airport Corporation (IIAC), one of the parties involved in the project, the Incheon International Airport Corporation (IIAC) announced the plan.

"When Inspire Resort opens at Incheon International Airport in 2022, it will provide world-class facilities to domestic and foreign travelers as well as quality jobs in the region," said IIAC Chairman Koo Bon-hwan in a commentary conducted by The Korea Herald on Tuesday.

The outlet added that the construction will be "completed by the end of 2021 ″, and the property will begin operating in June next year."

Previously, the first phase of the $1.6 billion Mohegan Line's Incheon Casino Resort project was scheduled to begin in the final quarter of 2021. A total of $5 billion in capital investment commitments were mentioned over several stages over two decades.

The U.S. casino company, also known as Mohegan Sun, previously said it expected to begin planning Phase 1 by 2020. It has since changed its schedule to "late 2020 or early 2021" before revising it again.

IIAC, the operator of the air hub next to the project, is also involved in the scheme, according to a previous report.
