Mitali :

I don't think anything is meaningful in this world.

What fascinates me is the continuously evolving being of children and my connection with them that keeps gifting me wonders every moment.

Plus, a refreshing, unconditional, revitalizing, rejuvenating સંબંધ gets rediscovered in every moment, makes me young and healthy psychophysically.

I don't want to travel the world or to have luxurious amenities, rather I wish to be healthy and happy.

Children also provide a continuous challenge to me through their unexpected, spontaneous, very OG responses that are quite complex and very simple at the same time. I think, it is one of the best brain exercises.

The spur of joy that springs in my whole being just by looking at them directly is not replaceable with other works.

So, I am happy , grateful and satisfied to work directly with children for longer time.

That is such a thoughtful topic to discuss mihir. It is true there is not much growth in the materialistic sense but teaching does give it’s own rewards. When a child says a word, knows something or applies it in his day as a teacher you feel so happy. That in itself is very rewarding. I think teaching is the only profession in the world that you gan guaranteed feel productive every time.

Personally speaking, it's : 1. Deep connection with a certain age group 2. Sometimes also the motivation comes from a personal lack we faced in our childhood 3. A brave idea that one can make an impact, may or may not be egotistical in nature For me all 3 are true

Remembering that this age group specifically needs "goodness" (reference to 3 values to truth, beauty and goodness) and that is possible only through human observation and interaction and someone who makes the world a good place for them

Small children are a blessing for anyone who gets to work with them-

  • Matching the energy and the simplicity of observations
  • Staying curious with them...
  • Bringing harmony in their flow, ushering them to try things
  • They bring challenges and humbling experience, the best way to know you are alive
  • Pure souls with no distinction of good and bad, you can get a preview of the fragmented adult world, you can try to keep their's intact
  • They only operate from presence and context ( you won't find this anywhere)
  • I had an example of how we narrow their world view by putting our notions. A toddler has balloon in his hand and he is inside the room... If he steps out the balloon size now is in context to the surroundings.... Children are aware of this changing context and if given a chance won't get into the trap of big and small ( and such opposites we teach) as they are always in context.

The book 'thinking like a plant' talks about a plant can tell us the conditionsof its environment... It just reacts/responds to its conditions... I think it applies to young children as well.

The younger children lives in the present moment (kindergarten years). Their world is NOW. Being with them not only nourishing and enriching but helps one to really go to the roots of things. To be present, to be truthful.

They learn more by imitation and imagination. Forcing adults to behave and be nice.

These are few thoughts, from material to spiritual satisfaction they bring to us. I have a story which I keep on sharing quite often.
