There are many problems that, by definition, completely unresolvable within the current perspective and identity that created the problem in the first place. I call these problems "border problems", for they define the border of one's perspective, the maximum range where the perspectives and mental frameworks can still work. There is only so much one can do with a single tool.
To resolve this problems then, is literally impossible, at least to the perspective that defined the problem. For example, the border problem of a hammer is that it cannot cut the wood in half just by itself. Then we think to ourselves "Of course, an axe is better suited to split the wood, who doesn't know that?" Indeed, the hammer can never hope to split the wood like an axe does, for they are made for completely different purposes. Thus, it would be better for us to call it a limitation of the hammer instead of the problem of the hammer.
It is only right that a hammer cannot, should not, and must not split the wood like an axe does. If it is able to do something like that, then will it still be qualified to be called a hammer? No, it would completely lose its identity as a hammer, it would be called something else. Thus, this is just not a limitation of the hammer, it is also a crucial part that forms the identity of the hammer. Without this border problem, without this limitation, it will have no hammer-ness, it will cease to exist as a hammer.
Of course, the human mind is more flexible than a hammer, it can change to anything it wants to be almost instantly. Yet when it become unable to change shape, if the mind becomes unable to transform itself, that is what we call neuroticism — where one gets stuck in a cycle of few patterns, unable to change itself like before. When this happens, the mind got itself stuck like a stepsister, we all know what happens next — what happens to the stuck stepsister, also happens to our mind.
How can we unstuck our minds? How can we make our minds flexible again? How can we change our hammer to an axe? Those are not the right questions to ask. A hammer is hammer, it can never be an axe. The past cannot be changed but it does not have to cripple our present. Trying to resolve this problem without proper methods is like pressing your finger inside the running faucet to stop it — the water only gets more chaotic, slaps your face, and wets your clothes that you just finished drying recently.
Like I said before, this problem cannot be resolved. It can only be uncreated, by actively stopping the conditions that perpetuates the problem. It won't be easy cleaning one's mind that has been stagnant for long. For some people, it would be like trying to clean an abandoned supermarket where everything is already rotten and toxic, to go inside it without proper preparations can mean death. You're gonna need an entire team in hazmat suits, emergency responders, and perhaps a few years before everything becomes as good as new.
One symptom of this problem is the postponement reactions, where one's perceived inadequacy prevents them from doing things they want and postpones it to the later future that might never come. Everyone has experienced postponement reactions at some point in their lives, it's normal. Yet if the things we postpone are our happiness, health, and safety, then this becomes a lot more dangerous. Perhaps your current perceived identity, by definition, is physically unable to care for itself and assert its own happiness.
One of the most basic skills in Transcendence is Uncreation, the ability to reverse the creation process of something and return it fo the nothingness using mastery over one's mind. Everytime, at any moment, the mind is constantly creating things without being consciously noticed. It is constantly recreating past patterns and future fulfillments, integrating them to the present environment every second. The present moment then, including one's mental states and perception of reality, is highly subjected to the forces of both the past and the future.
Uncreation then, means stopping or slowing certain mental forces that contributes to the maintenance of a specific mental state. Before one can try Uncreation, one must be aware of the process of Creation. The main principle in this world is that nothing is ever created only once, that creation does not only happen at birth and uncreation does not only happen at death. Every living being in this world is constantly being created and uncreated every passing second, they are always being refined, improved, reduced, and decaying all at once at the same time.
Thus, just like our present moment, our past and futures are also being constantly recreated everyday by our mind. This world may have given birth to us but it is us who are constantly maintaining our life. We may not have chosen to be born yet we have chosen to keep living, regardless how difficult life may be. Sometimes we do not know why we want to keep on living when death seems to be an easier path yet we still kept struggling anyway. Do not forget that you have chosen to be alive today.
Knowing that we are constantly recreating our past and future, we can stop the processes involved in creating them, even if it's just for a few seconds to a few minutes. While it may seem easy, it's painful, when one tries to use Uncreation for the first few times, they cannot help but be reminded of the guilt and shame they have endured in their life. This is normal, one has to first acknowledge the existence and creation of something before you can uncreate it.
It hurts to realize that you have been wasting your life all along, it hurts to see that you haven't done anything for yourself all this time, and the most painful of all — it hurts to understand that the pain is already over and we have been unconsciously hurting ourselves all along. Endure it, cry about it, but do not close your eyes or look away. This is your life and it will remain yours until you die. There's no need to think about blame, responsibility, or redemption for now, they might still be too heavy for you to bear. Instead, just focus on being free this one moment, this few seconds of your life.
When you think of the word Uncreate, remember that you're ultimately the one who creates your thoughts, feelings, emotions, perceptions, and judgements in response to your environment and that you are actively effortlessly creating them right in this moment. You are the creator of your mind. Look at these patterns, thoughts, and feelings you have, just as how you are constantly creating them, you can stop creating them.
Think about the current emotions, thoughts, or patterns you want to stop.
Then relax...
Uncreate.
Great job, you managed to do it for half a second. That's not bad for your first time. You may practice it for as many times as you want so you can get used to the feelings of Uncreation. I shall now tell you about the important details that will help you understand your newfound ability.
Remember that you are not destroying or annihilating something, you cannot destroy that which is constantly being recreated and regenerated. You are pulling a certain plug to a certain thought-patterns that will allow them their existence to vanish. Since you're still a beginner, it's normal to be scared of unplugging something in your mind, so you would automatically and unconsciously plug it back. That's why you were only able to do it for half a second.
No, you are not manipulating something in your mind nor are you changing the truth of what already happened by lying to yourself. Your mind has a built-in fact checker that will stubbornly refuse any conscious attempts to distort what you believe is true. Even if you do managed to deceive yourself, you cannot ever deceive your body. The burden you refuse to carry in your mind, your body will carry. The pain you refuse to face, your body will experience. The memory you do not want to remember, your body will reenact and repeat what happened before. Deception may win some battles but only honesty can win the war.
No, you are not trying to hide, forget, or ignore something either. Trying to suppress your mind is like trying to block the flow of a high-pressure pipe, the part you were trying to suppress would eventually explode and possess you. If you do not want to change yourself, at least let your thoughts and feelings flow normally on your mind, without forcing them to stay or holding them back. Likewise, the memories you try to forget will always come back to haunt you, you will find yourself doing the same regrettable decision as you did before. Just let it flow, accept and endure.
Uncreation, just like creation, is a constant process. Nothing is ever uncreated once. When you Uncreate, you will have to effortlessly keep the uncreation process for as long as you want just as how your mind effortlessly and repetitively creates the same thoughts and feelings. If you feel a strong internal resistance and opposition to your Uncreation, simply uncreate the source of that resistance, then repeat this process until you have uncreated the entire tree of thought that's bothering you. You may not be able to find the roots easily but once you have reached the leaves, just keep uncreating and you will eventually reach the roots.
Let's try this again. Relax...
Think about what you want to uncreate.
For me, I want to uncreate my fear of people.
I think the source is the hundreds of instances I was humiliated and rejected.
It hurts to remember. Now, we will relax...
Uncreate, pull the plug of those memories.
Uncreate, all self-beliefs developed from it.
There is nothing left, there is only nothingness.
You're awesome! You managed to Uncreate for at least three seconds, that's good. It seems you were really paying attention to this lecture. Don't be too harsh on yourself if you can't keep it for a long time, no one becomes a master in just a few tries after all. For now, it might not be very effortless for you and might take some conscious focus and attention but when you get used to it, you'll be able to do it as easily as breathing.
Thank you for listening! Until next time~
