Suwon Samsung to hold 'LIGHT IT UP BLUE Campaign' at Gimpo Exhibition on the 14th

Suwon Samseong, in partnership with Dream Whale Social Cooperative, will host the "LIGHT IT UP BLUE" campaign at its home game against Gimpo on April 14 to raise awareness and understanding of autism spectrum disorder.

The LIGHT IT UP BLUE campaign is a global campaign that has been running around the world since 2010, inspired by the fact that blue is a color that many autistic people feel comfortable with and symbolizes hope and love.

To promote the campaign, there will be a tattoo sticker event for spectators and a booth to experience boccia, an official Paralympic sport, at the game on Thursday, and a performance by DreamWithEnsemble, Korea's first specialized performance group for people with developmental disabilities, at halftime.

Lee Jong-soo, who is currently a Para alpine skier and has participated in domestic and international competitions such as the Special Olympics and the National Winter Games for the Disabled, will lead the ceremony, and children with developmental disabilities and their families from the Dream Whale Social Cooperative will be able to watch the event from the Deck Zone and participate in the warm-up high-touch and escort kids events.

The event was organized to commemorate World Autism Day on April 2, which is observed by the United Nations, and Disability Day on April 20, which is a legal holiday in Korea. World Autism Day was declared by a unanimous resolution of the UN General Assembly in 2007 to emphasize the need for help to improve the lives of people with autism and to raise awareness among people so that people with autism can lead full and meaningful lives.

"We are pleased and honored to be a part of such a meaningful event. I hope that the combined efforts of all of us can contribute to raising awareness of autism spectrum disorders," said Ms. Yang.
