Ontario hits all-time high for iGaming in Q4 2023
IGaming, Ontario, reported on Wednesday afternoon that the second year of regulated sports betting and iGaming totaled $63 billion in wages and $2.4 billion in revenue.
Record fourth-quarter results from Jan. 1 to March 31 put total bets at $17.8 billion, a 78% increase during the first year of the market between April 2022 and April 2023. Total gaming revenue in the fourth quarter was $690 million, setting the stage for a 72% increase from the first year.
Martha Otton, managing director of iGaming Ontario, said, "The second-year gaming market in Ontario grew by more than 70% from the first year, with $63 billion in bets and $2.4 billion in gaming revenue." "As the market matures into its third year, I look forward to building the foundation for success with operators and other partners investing in Ontario so that people in Ontario can continue to play games confidently."

Casino wages were $14.6 billion in the fourth quarter and $51.7 billion in 2023, up 88% from 2022. Casino games include slots, live and computer-based table games and peer bingo.
Casino gaming revenue in Q4 was $510 million, and in 2023, it was $1.8 billion, an 89% increase over 2022.
Betting bet amounts in the fourth quarter were $2.7 billion, up 39% from 2022 to $9.7 billion in 24. Betting includes sports, esports, offers and novelty bets, and exchange bets.
Betting game revenue in the fourth quarter was $161 million, with 24 in 2023 ending at $588 million, a 36% increase over 2022.
Peer topper (P2P) poker bets closed at $446 million in the fourth quarter and ended 2023 at $1.6 billion, a 64% increase over 2022.
Peer poker game revenue was $19 million in the fourth quarter, and 24 years in 2023 was $67 million, an increase of 67% compared to 2022.
Earlier this month, on the second anniversary of Ontario's legal market, the Ontario Alcohol and Gaming Commission released an IPSOS survey showing that just over 86% of Ontario residents gambling use regulated websites.
