The 2023-2024 WKBL New Player Selection Contest will be held at Cheongju Gymnasium on the 4th.

With 29 players challenging the professional stage, the largest number ever, the first to fourth rankings were outlined. Ko Hyun-ji (Supia Girls' High School), Byun Ha-jung, Heo Yoo-jung (Bundang Management High School), and Seo Jin-young (Sunil Girls' High School) are likely to be named top players.

Who will be called by each club after the second half of the first round after the destination of the four mentioned above is decided.

It may vary depending on the results of combine and tryouts, but among the remaining resources, Park Da-won (Bundang Management High School) and Lee Ye-na (Cheongju Girls' High School) are likely to be nominated in the second half of the first round.

Park Da-won played a supporting role in winning three gold medals this season. Although he did not receive much attention due to the shadow of his teammates such as Heo Yoo-jung and Byun Ha-jung, he played well by taking advantage of his tall height (179cm) and long shooting distance.

The size is good and the shooting ability is not bad, so it is worth looking forward to a last-minute nomination in the first round.

Lee Ye-na (179cm) also needs to be noted. He is good at attacking inside and outside with excellent physical conditions and physicality. He played a big man position in high school, but his range of activities is wide, making it worth using as a tall forward on the professional stage.

Turning to the second round, Katie Timmerman (Concordia University), Kim Soo-in (Sungui Girls' High School), Kim Jong-un (Hyosung Girls' High School), Cho Joo-hee (Suwon Girls' High School), and Kim Sol (Hwabong High School) are waiting for each club's call.

Timmerman, who participated as a compatriot, is not comparable to Kiana Smith (Samsung Life Insurance). However, WKBL club officials explain that it has a clear strength in shooting. As the ability other than shooting still needs to be verified, the nomination and ranking are expected to be determined depending on the tryout.

If you want to reinforce the guard, Kim Soo-in is also a good choice. He is tall (176cm) compared to his position and has excellent athletic ability. According to his teacher, who coached him in high school, he has excellent speed, elasticity, breakthrough, and shooting, but his reading and passing walks need to be supplemented.

If you want a shooter, you can consider nominating Kim Sol. Kim Sol has strengths outside the three-point line with resources specialized for outer shots and has explosive power. It is a card that can be tempting for a team that feels thirsty outside.

On the forward line, you can pay attention to Kim Jong-un and Cho Joo-hee. Kim Jong-un, who was the pillar of Hyosung Girls' High School this season, has an attractive combative mind on the court. However, due to weak team power and injuries, he could not fully show his skills.

Jo Joo-hee, who has the advantage of being left-handed, can cross inside and outside. Despite his small height, he has good agility under the goal and adheres to the accuracy of occasional outside shots.
