Once upon a time, there was a line. A yellow line, a curved line. It does not see the two parallel black lines with spacious gap between each other, one called the road. And so it curved to the left, it takes one smooth curve for it reach somewhere, bypassing the borders of the road. So the zigzag lines appeared, not the one you're thinking about. Rather, they are lines that only move horizontally and vertically, 0 degrees and 90 degrees, alternating between horizontal and vertical lines, usually taking two or more turns to reach their destination. Thus, these zigzag lines appeared, confronting the yellow line, preventing it from advancing any further.
However, the yellow line, undisturbed, simply curved to the right, again bypassing the borders of the road. Again, the yellow line met the zigzag lines, preventing it from advancing any further. So it turned left again but it was stopped much earlier than before. So it turned right instead yet it was also stopped much earlier than the previous one. This happened repeatedly until the yellow line was forced to move only inside the road.
Being confined inside the road, its curves became much thinner. It still did not see the borders of the road but it did see the zigzag lines that will definitely appear if it crosses the border. Before even getting a sigh of relief, a bunch of zigzag lines swarmed the yellow line from both sides of the road, forcing it to move in a zigzag way. The yellow line struggled to curve, being restricted in such a crowded and narrowed space. This happened so often for so long, that the yellow line had forgotten how to curve. It became a zigzag line.
Being a zigzag line, just moving forward forces everyone else around it to also move in a zigzag way. The yellow line was considered weak and poor, being only able to make a few zigzag turns to reach their destination. It is said that those who are the greatest of lines are able to make hundreds of zigzag turns to reach their destination, whose movement begins to resemble that of a curve if you squint your eyes.
So the yellow line worked hard to zigzag even more, increasing its strength with a few more zigzag turns per inch every passing page. Its yellow color began to fade. The yellow line is turning into black lines, like all the others. Finally, it was able to achieve its goal of having 63 zigzag turns per inch, becoming one of the greatest lines in history similar to their Line God. The Line God is said to be able to make 1500 zigzag turns per inch. Although its movement looks like an abominable curved line, if you zoom in closely you will see its magnificence, the hundreds of zigzag lines that create the illusion of a smooth flowing path. Unsurprisingly, the yellow line was no more, it has became a completely black zigzag line. What once took a single curve to reach, will now take him 63 zigzag turns to arrive, truly a pinnacle of excellence!
While taking a stroll inside the road like it always do, the once-yellow line saw a young orange line, curving freely outside the road. The now-black line, reminded of his own childhood, thought to himself: "What a naive and ignorant fellow, I must take it upon myself to discipline them towards the path of greatness." Together with other zigzag lines, they blocked the advancements of the orange line until it learned to only move inside the road. Then they blocked its movements until it can no longer curve. Thus, the orange line must now struggle each day trying to earn more zigzag lines per inch.
However, the now-black line, seeing their childhood from the orange line, realized that he cannot allow this to continue any longer. Seeing the foolish orange line, made him determined to personally discipline and enforce the path of the orange line in the most strict way possible, so that it would become a black zigzag line faster.
Such is the life of the lines in the Zigzag notebook.
