'Hwang In-Beom, head coach changed' Zvezda appoints Milojevic after shock suspension...'two-and-a-half-year contract'

Tsrvena Zvezda has a new head coach, Vladan Milojevic, who has been in charge once before.

"Zvezda fans' favorite coach Milojevic is back," Zvezda officially announced on the club's channel today (Feb. 22).

According to the Zvezda press conference, Zvezda President Zvezdan Terzić said, "Coach Milojević needs no introduction as he is a child of the club. We know what results he achieved as a first-team coach, and today we signed a two-and-a-half-year contract with him."

On his return to the helm, Milojević said: "I came to Zvezda when I was 16 years old and the club means a lot to me. Even when I left, the club always said they could count on me. Then the call came, and I didn't think twice about it," he said.

He continued, "Zvezda is going in the right direction. We want to maintain continuity and correct what could have been better. The young players are a benefit and a gold medal for us. I'm glad they have the opportunity to experience the Champions League. Zvezda has great potential," he added.

Earlier, Zvezda lost 1-2 in the 'Vechiti Derby' derby match against Partizan on November 21. As a result, they dropped to second place in the league standings (46 points), behind Partizan (47 points). Zvezdaigi, who had lost six straight matches dating back to the start of the 2017-18 season, was not satisfied with the results. The team sacked head coach Barak Bahar after the game.

Zvezda appointed Milojevic as its new head coach. Milojevic came up through the club's youth ranks as a player and started as a Zvezda youth coach when he took a coaching course after retiring. He took over as first-team coach in the summer of 2017. He won the league title in both the 2017-18 and 2018-19 seasons. They also advanced to the group stage of the 2018-19 Champions League playoffs by knocking out Salzburg, and then went on to beat Liverpool 2-0.

Milojevic left Zvezda in December 2019 after a spell with Al Ahly, AEK Athens, Al Etihad, Apoel, and Apollon Limassol before joining Zvezda.

Zvezda is also the team of "Korean League" player Hwang In-beom. The former Olympiacos player joined Zvezda in the summer transfer window. A managerial nightmare. During his time at Olympiacos, Hwang had several coaching changes due to the team's poor performance. The same happened at Zvezda, where he was on his second head coach.
