Daytona Beach Racing & Card Club Holds $600K Moneymaking Poker Tour

Daytona Beach Racing and Card Club will host the largest poker competition in history in April with Moneymaker Poker Tour, a 12-trophy event featuring poker legend Chris Moneymaker.

The latest tournament in the club's Great American Poker Tournaments series will be held from Apr. 17-29, with $600,000 in prize money guaranteed. Moneymaker helped popularize poker by winning the main event of the 2003 World Series Poker by working as an accountant and a part-time restaurant employee. He became a promotional ambassador for poker and founded his own branded tour.

"As a highly regarded professional in the poker world, Chris Moneymaker brings significant fame to this event," said Fred Guzman, president and general manager of Daytona Beach Racing & Card Club. "His record of exceeding guarantees and ensuring top-notch play adds additional interest to our Great American Poker Tournament series."

Daytona Beach Racing & Card Club launched a series of branded poker tournaments in 2023 to generate greater revenue and bring new trends in poker tournaments to local and local players.

To date, the GAPT series has won $1.5 million and is recognized as a top pick by tournament players in Florida.

"We're excited to host another venue this year with Chris Moneymaker and Tony Burns," said GAPT Tournament Director Byron Rodriguez. "They've been a special partner, and we look forward to a great environment of good action and unstoppable poker play. This year, we're excited to announce that more than $600,000 in prize money will be guaranteed for the event."
