Jang decided to become a baseball player after going to a professional baseball stadium with his parents when he was in second grade of elementary school. Confident in physique, Jang is the fourth batter. "I want to become a batter who I can expect to hit long and one-handed hits," Jang said. "I am working hard to gain strength through weight training and one-handed batting training." "This is the first time I hit a home run during the off-season training in Taiwan. I want to become a big hitter like Noh Si-hwan of the Hanwha Eagles who became the home run king in Korea last year," Jang said. Hwang Hyun-seo (Cheonanbuk Middle School) was selected as the best batter in Group A, and Lee Seung-woo (Cheongnyang Middle School) was selected as the best pitcher.
In Group B, Lee Won-woo (Jeonju SBC, 15), who is also a catcher, was selected as the most valuable player.
Lee won the individual award for the first time since he started playing baseball. "When I was a third grader in elementary school, I decided to become a baseball player when I saw my cousin who was three years older than me," Lee said. "I want to become a catcher with excellent pitch and sophisticated batting ability." "There is no player I like," Lee said. "I want to become a star that many fans can recognize when I call him 'Lee Won-woo'." "I want to hit like Shohei Ohtani (Los Angeles Dodgers), Yang Eui-ji (Dusan) in defense, and Son Seong-bin (Lotte). After graduating from high school, I want to go to KIA, my local professional team, and finally advance to the Major League," Lee said with a smile. Shin Sang-min, chairman of the Korea Youth Club Baseball Association, said, "Most of the teams participated in the first competition last year, and the level of newly joined teams has improved. I thank Inje-gun for its careful consideration, including providing a good training environment." "Nearly 500 players and their parents, 1,200 people visited Inje-gun," Shin said. "Of the 13 teams, 11 stayed in Inje-gun for more than five days. I am just grateful for the high satisfaction of leaders, parents, and student players."
