'UFC 6-game winning streak' Allen rematches Curtis after 2 years and 4 months “I will not make mistakes”
Brendan Allen (28, USA), who is on a 6-game winning streak in the UFC, will take revenge on Chris Curtis (36, USA) for the first time in 2 years and 4 months.
Allen, ranked 6th in the UFC middleweight (83.9 kg) rankings, will hold the main event of 'UFC Fight Night: Allen vs. Curtis 2' against Curtis, ranked 14th, held at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA on the 7th (Korean time).
In the past, Allen lost by TKO in the second round to Curtis in December 2021 after receiving a series of blows following a right hook.
After losing face, Allen worked hard and recorded 6 consecutive wins, raising his middleweight ranking to 6th place.
Allen, who has learned jiu-jitsu since the age of 13, has excellent submission decision-making skills. Of his 23 wins in the UFC, 14 were by submission. Five of his last six straight wins were won by rear naked choke.
Allen is determined to avenge his past loss in a rematch with Curtis.
“Curtis is an outstanding boxer,” Allen said. He's tough, brave, and has good takedown defense. But he expressed confidence, saying, “I haven’t seen much else.” Curtis, who has 31 wins (10 losses) in the UFC, also has extraordinary determination. Allen, who is excellent at hitting, has the power to create knockdown strikes regardless of whether he is left or right handed. “Alan hasn’t changed much since the last game,” Curtis said. “When he fights a player like Allen, he cannot make mistakes in any area,” he cautioned.
