At the second round of the professional basketball semifinal playoff (PO) between Suwon KT and Ulsan Hyundai Mobis held on the 7th, Ahn Joon-ho, the national basketball team coach, was present.

Coach Ahn, who visits the professional basketball scene as the head coach of the national team 13 years later, has become a supporter of "fast basketball."

"The national team should be faster than this game. The transition between KCC in Busan and SK in Seoul was faster on the previous day, and it should be much faster than that," Ahn said.

"There are a lot of teams that are playing fast basketball right now, but it's not even that level. The national team should not follow a professional team, but it should show a higher level of transition than a professional team," he said.

Coach Ahn believes that if the national team is to keep up with the global basketball trend, which is getting faster in terms of offense and defense, it should produce basketball accordingly. Therefore, he is glad to see the recent evolution of professional basketball.

However, coach Ahn pointed out that he should aim for more sophisticated basketball.

In fact, errors poured out in this game. Hyundai Mobis made 16 and KT made 12.

It is a general perception that if the speed is increased, the attack operation cannot be controlled, resulting in more errors.

"If you can't play sophisticated and fast basketball, you lose your international competitiveness. All 12 entrants should be able to play full-pressure defense," Ahn said. "The center should also play this defense, and throw three points while falling outside."

Coach Ahn stressed that he needs a strong naturalized player to play his dream basketball.

Basketball, which is fast and maximizes external firepower, should also have no problem in defense.

It is the homework of coach Ahn and Korean basketball to find players who are good at transitioning offense and defense, outside attack, and under-the-goal defense.

It is unclear whether Ra Gun-ah (KCC), a "special naturalized player" who has kept the goal of Korean basketball, will be accompanied.

Ra Gun-ah's "four-way contract" has already expired, which includes not only his professional basketball team KCC but also the national team and the KBL. As it is a complicated multi-party contract, chances are not high that the parties will have the same interests as they did under special naturalization.

Whether to extend the final contract is expected to be determined after the end of this season based on Ra Gun-ah's future and the possibility of contact with a new naturalized player candidate.

Coach Ahn reiterated, "There should be such a (naturalization) player who protects the bottom of the goal and shoots the outside as well."
