When frustration reaches a certain threshold, all kinds of negative emotions rise, shaking the will, scaring the spirit, and draining the energy.
Even though we monitor it closely, we'll still get surprised at sudden outbursts of frustration, especially when excitement and happiness alternates to frustration and desperation.
Excitement and frustration are basically one in terms of how easily and instantly they alternate to one another. High excitement can instantly turn to high frustration and vice-versa. If we only monitor the frustration and the negative emotions, while we indulge in positive emotions, then we'll get rekt when these positive emotions suddenly alternate to their opposites.
Good thing is, regardless of how often we fall down, we can get back up instantly. Stepping on a Lego brick or hitting the corner of a chair with our toe may hurt, but we can instantly ignore it in less than a second as if nothing happened.
Physical pain and hardships are no match for us, but mental and psychological damage subtly poisons the mind, while emotional outbursts keep hitting us by surprise. When it happens, we simply wake up and realize that we have wasted thousands of money without realizing.
It's easy to think "Ah it's fine, I'm just sheep when it comes to controlling emotions. This will happen again and again because I'm a a human being."
But we can't do such thing. Surrendering and acceptance may be necessary but giving up is simply unthinkable. Even if we fail and return to the beginning ten thousand times, we ought to keep trying because we're born into this world.
The negative combo effect says that when one stumbles and fails at something, they're more likely to fail more in quick succession, creating a negative chain reaction of chaos.
"I've already started it, I've already done it, let's go all the way!"
This is one of the most destructive line of thought ever known to mankind, which emerges once a person reaches their critical frustration threshold. No, it doesn't really make sense to go all the way and create more losses when we can simply cut the losses, retreat and back down.
We're really not that special as we think, so why should the universe make us win the lottery instead of others? Why should we suffer the most painful thing instead of others? We're but a grain of cosmic dust in the vast expanse of space, to place oneself higher or lower than everyone else is the highest level of arrogance.
No amount of stories, uniqueness, weirdness, and individuality can make us better or worse than others. Even if each grain of sand has a name and number, they're still all grain of sands. We do not differentiate between grain of sands.
Still, it's understandable if we continue to think like that, that we're somehow the center of the universe. It's because we're all biologically and mentally conditioned to put ourselves first before the others, to prioritize our own sanity and survival.
However, just like how other people are able to put others before themselves, with enough practice and mindfulness, we'll be able to eliminate the distinction between the self and the other, become selfless and free from the constraints of egocentrism.
When people stand on their head, they'll see the world upside down, but if they do it for long enough time, their brain would start to reorganize their perception and turn their vision upside down again so they'll see properly. But if they were to stand up, they'll see the world upside down again, until their brains reorganize their perception.
The same way how the brain can reorganize our perception to adapt to the environment, spending long enough time in the nothingness will allow our brain to adapt and enhance our senses to the highest degree, that we'll be able to feel and sense beyond normal human limits.
Well that's just my theory, another one of my theories to convince myself to meditate for longer haha. Speaking of meditation, "forget" is a good keyword for us to dissolve all knowledge, assumptions, emotions, sense of self, and memories. Eventually, we'll forget to think, we'll forget to breathe, and we'll forget that we are forgetting something — that's where True Meditation happens.
"A random brain dump is a mere rambling. An organized brain dump is an article. Interconnected organized brain dumps is an ebook."
"No amount of thinking or writing can bring peace in a world that's constantly changing."
"One grieves at each failure for an hour, then celebrates success for a minute."
