A poem to remind myself to be patient and relaxed whatever the situation, calmly deal with the present without obsessing over perfection.

If you think you can quickly reach perfection
By endlessly chasing over it
Taking immediate shortcuts
Performing giant leaps of faith
That's where you're mistaken.
All you need is to walk...
Small teeny tiny steps!
Crawl your way around like a snail
Happily wiggle your tail while at it
Slowly, but surely you'll reach the stars!
Perfection is like a carrot on a schtick
You may get close as you want
But you'll never be able to reach
So don't exhaust yourself obsessing over it
Just keep walking one step at a time!
Ignoring it will only make the carrot spoiled
Chasing it will only tire you out
It's made for you so you can move forward
But not too fast, take your time
A single tiny step is all you need!
All you need is to walk...
Small teeny tiny steps!
Crawl your way around like a snail
Happily wiggle your tail while at it
Slowly, but surely you'll reach the stars!
Oh come on, there's no need to rush
Your goal is an ever-moving target
Just follow the path and see where it leads
One tiny step at a time!
The stars doesn't plan to run away from you
Neither happiness nor success can be found
At the end of the rainbow
It's only for those who walked on the rainbow
If you keep walking with tiny steps
Something greater than perfection awaits!
"I made this poem for myself, not for you."
"What could be greater than perfection itself?"
"It takes thousands of tiny steps to scale a mountain by foot."
