Whenever I go outside to sit on a chair and watch the sky, there are houseflies flying around and exploring my skin.
Oftentimes, I used to find them very annoying. That I would move immediately every time one of them tries to crawl on me. But now I just appreciate them and let them crawl on my skin. They may be annoying but they're one of the few ways I can interact with the world. What's great is that they approach and interact with me first so I don't have to approach them.
If you think about it, a lot of annoying things in life are just like these houseflies. Every pain, itch, and regret is proof that we are part of the world, that we have interacted with it. Above all, they keep the fire going so we'll be motivated to move and do something, even if it's only out of annoyance.
Thanks for being with me, houseflies.
