Stream of Life

The Stream

Sometimes we get so involved and focused on our work that we forget the true purpose and reason we are here for.

Then when the opportunity suddenly comes our way, we become so surprised and afraid of taking it, fearing the sudden change that will crush our comfortably empty life.

Have we become so lost in the wilderness, that when the opportunity to go home reveals itself, we simply ignore it?

It's funny how the thing we have always been looking for, we have been dreaming and wishing for, the one we have been working towards for, suddenly comes in front of us, where we find ourselves not wanting it anymore.

Ahh what a life. It's either too easy that we can't be bothered to do it, or just too difficult that we can't be bothered to try it. But is something really easy or difficult? We simply live through life. We choose what we want to experience and what we don't want to experience.

We have arrived here from our own decisions. We are both the stream that takes us in a hurry, and the person on the stream that "goes with the flow". There's no such thing as easy or difficult. It's all the same stream, the same life. There is only one question that matters — where do you want to go? What do you want to experience?

Only your actions and decisions can answer that question. Save your words for those that you want to ride the stream with.

Your actions here will dictate, the answer you will make, and the story you will create.

Responsibility

Taking ownership and responsibility of one's life, it sounds scary, doesn't it? How can we supposed to take responsibility, when we have already made thousands of mistakes?

What does it mean to "take responsibility" anyway? Whenever we hear it, the image that comes to mind is punishment. So when we hear "taking responsibility for our own life", the image that comes to mind is punishing ourselves, setting extremely strict schedules, and blaming ourselves for every mistake we have done.

I know. Because that's what my parents told me. That's what I watched in movies too. But it doesn't have to be true, nor do we have to believe it.

Let's open our mind for a better definition, shall we?

Responsibility... doesn't mean pain, chains, jail, burden, blame, and strictness.

Responsibility... means freedom, wings, happiness, flexibility, and creativity.

To be responsible is to take ownership of your own life, to set boundaries from people who takes advantage of you, and focus on the things that you want. It means flying with your own wings, without limiting and burdening yourself with anything else.

Being responsible means choosing the path we want to go without being pressured nor controlled by anyone else. It's not about the mistakes you made and will make, but it's about the life you want to live.

Responsibility isn't about willpower either, it's simply about what you want, rather than what they want.

So if you ever change your mind and start to take responsibility, to take the steering wheel, I promise you'll be able to go wherever you want.

"To ignore and leave seems to be our default responses when it comes to life events. Let's find a way to change it to 'to approach and respond'".

"Are you really just ignoring the opportunity, or have you been ignoring your own life altogether?"

"You're not the one going with the flow, you are the flow itself."
