Cursed Birthday Celebration

Lmaoo I was using the Piso wifi on the beach but I inserted 20 peso coin where it become stuck on the coin inserter. So I ran away from the crime and let other people deal with it. It's not that bad because they'll get 20 coin if they solved it. Otherwise, it's stuck forever, and I'm the only one with Wifi connection.

That's me. You may be wondering how I arrived into this situation. Record scratch, one hour earlier...

So this specific birthday celebration of mine is particularly peculiar. Not only did my parents made it coincide with the family reunion, with my birthday only appearing 3 days later, we also got two extra guests who joined us in the birthday celebration. These guests are none other than the boyfriends of my first and second sisters. This is the first time my sisters brought guests to a birthday celebration. I don't feel anything about it, just like how I don't feel anything about humans in general, though it does feel a little bit awkward. I remember in movies that any romantic relationship that lower family members would have, they would have to face the tribunal council where they must earn approval from other family members. Unfortunately, it's either there's nothing like that in real life or I wasn't present in the tribunal council.

So yeah, as usual, my parents only realized that we forgot something important when we finally arrived here. That bag contained three sets of clothes from three different family members. That means I won't be able to swim on the beach either. I knew shits gonna go down once they forgot to bring a water gallon to the trip. Right, there doesn't seem to be any drinking water in our cottage all. No problem, two days of thirst is somewhat survivable. It is three days of thirst that kills someone, but two days is fine.

I've been sneezing every 5 minutes for the past 3 hours, before the trip, during the trip, and after reaching the beach. Not even taking an OTC medications was able to prevent me from sneezing. Even last night, I couldn't sleep properly as I had to wake up every 15 minutes just to violently sneeze, that muscle pained shoulders and chest feel as if it's breaking. Yes, I'm experiencing some muscle pain in almost all parts of my body since yesterday — where I went to a school event that lasted for 8 hours and I walked 3 kilometers towards home after. That's because I couldn't find a passing rickshaw and those few rickshaws who passed refused me.

Anyway I paid so much money for that damn Piso wifi, only for me to lose my 20 coin. It was too late when I realized that the internet connection was incredibly weak, such that I cannot do anything else except scrolling social media. What a waste. All of this is a waste. I would have rather spent the entire day sleeping so I can recover from this muscle pain.

Let's not forget what would probably happen to this family reunion. After all, in every family reunion I've been in, the organizers really love making other people participate in their cringe games. I am not looking forward to them at all.

What's even better is the fact that this would last for two days. Two freaking days. Our only possible sleeping cottage is the small ass tent that could barely fit a few people. There's like 8 of us here, including the two extra guests who joined. I guess some of us would be sleeping inside the car tonight. And yeah, my mom just made me take two OTC pills using a sweet carbonated drink — antimucus and antihistamine. Good thing we have a carbonated drink, we can use this as water replacement. I sure hope that ingesting two OTC pills at the same time with a carbonated drink doesn't elicit a funny reaction inside my body.

Hm I want to wander around the beach but if I do that, there will be no one left to watch over the cottage containing all our belongings. The comfort room is extremely dark that I can't see any way to flush the toilet. Ugh it's already night and so cold, I'm sneezing again. I doubt the OTC drug I took was even working. The organizers are calling our family now, they keep calling, and none of us are responding. I just wanna go home and sleep. There's no nice place to sleep here.

Oh I'm out of issue. Guess I can't afford to sneeze anymore. I may be out of tissues but I'm not out of sneeze. With no more tissues to stop me, my sneeze and mucus shall flood the world. I sneezed so much that I quickly ran out of tissues. Not even a hundred tissues would be enough to cover all my sneezing.

I just woke up. My back hurts from sleeping in the car. There's no water here to wash my face. I was going to pause the Piso wifi before sleeping but the network disappeared. It seems they shut down the router before sleeping. What kind of monster does that? Good thing there's a random stranger here who shared their hotspot to the public, and it seems to be faster than the Piso wifi. Thank you, kind stranger, whoever you are! Though I do wonder if you're aware that your mobile data is going to get drained from sharing it to everyone.

For the reasons above, this has become the most memorable birthday celebration ever.

After what seemed to be an eternity, I finally managed to get back home. Looking back, it didn't felt like a birthday celebration at all, it felt more like a torture chamber. From now, I will never join any family reunion, unless there is guaranteed proper and modern cottage for each family — consisting of large beds, blankets, and a working toilet.

Even the food given by the organizers there doesn't seem to be tasty at all. The cooking process seemed rough and hard, as if they're "native" and "traditional" dishes from the mountains. I believe that cooking must be delicate and precise, especially since we now have modern measuring tools and spices that would help us cook properly. Well, not that I expected anything from a place where the comfort rooms only have tiny toilets, without water or tissue.

If this is how our clan reunions would go, then our family clan must be really poor and primitive. And here I thought family reunions would be something like a field trip to another country, while sleeping at 5 star hotels at night with free wifi. Or maybe it would be like visiting amusement parks for several days. I guess this is just the reality of life.
