Women's Volleyball Asian Quarter Tri-Out Conducts

While the existing Pontpun Gedfard (Thailand) challenged in the Asian quarter, Reyna Dokoku (registered name Reyna, Japan), who played for Heungkuk Life Insurance, will not participate in the tryout.

KOVO said on the 15th, "The Asian quarter try-out schedule and participants for the 2024 women's team have been confirmed."

The Asia Quarter Tri-Out, which will be held for the second time after the first time last year, will be held at Halla Gymnasium and Sun Hotel in Jeju from April 29 to May 1.

KOVO, which limited the target countries in the Asian quarter to 10 in the first season, expanded to all Asian countries in the 2024-25 season.

A total of 37 people applied during the trial-out application period (Feb. 1 to March 14), and 30 people who completed the evaluation of the seven women's teams were on the invitation list to Jeju Island. Among the seven people who played in the V League in the 2023-24 season, six people, except Raina, submitted their applications.

Other than Mega, Wipawi Sitong (Thailand), who led Hyundai Engineering & Construction to win the title, is highly likely to renew the contract. Attention is also focusing on whether Thailand's setter Ponpoon, who played for IBK as the No. 1 player overall last year, will renew his contract. If Ponpoon is released, attention is focusing on other teams' choices.

In terms of preference, China's 196cm middle blocker Jangwi was highly evaluated.

The annual salary of the women's players selected in the Asian quarter tryout is 120,000 dollars in the first year and 150,000 dollars in the second year.

The bottom three teams in the previous season put 30, 25, and 20 beads into the lottery machine in reverse order to be assigned the order of nomination first, and the top four teams select players by putting 20 beads each.
