AGTech Signs Terminal Supply Deal In Mainland China

Lottery supplier AGTech Holdings Ltd announced on Thursday that it had won a bid to supply a sports lottery terminal to Jilin Sports Lottery Management Center.

The bid was awarded through the indirectly wholly owned subsidiary of AGTech, Beijing AGTech GOT Technology Co Ltd.

In a filing with the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, AGTech said that so far in 2014, GOT had "successfully won several state/city sports lottery terminal bids, achieving a national market share of approximately 48% in handset supply."

According to AGTech, the sports lottery market in mainland China has about 140,000 handsets installed.

"We are very pleased with the ongoing strength of the GOT business," said John Sun Ho, AGTech's chairman and CEO, in a statement. "We are excited about the momentum of the GOT division and look forward to announcing more supply contract orders at home and abroad during this year."

Sports lottery sales in mainland China rose 24.1% year-on-year to 799.1 billion yuan ($12.9 billion) in the first half of 2014, according to data released earlier this month by the Ministry of Finance. The ministry said sales in June rose 83% year-on-year to 19.24 billion yuan on the back of the FIFA World Cup. Soccer matches were held between June 12 and July 13.
