Asian Gaming

A few months after opening, I was sitting at the bar, "Power of Love." I remember drinking the wonderfully marked "Black Label" whisky. Having a headache, I thought the whisky was fake like a turbine, but it was called Johnny Walker Scotch. But it was the only drink. It was Poippett's early days.

To Strangers Poipet is a small village in Cambodia located on the Thai border, about a three-hour drive from Bangkok. Except that there are now nine large (at least 80 tables each) casinos there, the town is noteworthy. In those early days, the bar in question was always crowded with Thai gamblers taking a break from game wars in search of alcohol, drugs, and castles. It was all easy to find.

Suddenly, shots rang out. In Cambodia, a supporter committed a dance violation that could put him to death! The unfortunate dancer stepped on the foot of another supporter. After a few more mistakes, the perpetrator ran out the door and the executor chased him. The bar's ceiling was badly damaged and, after spilling a lot of whiskey, I was very annoyed. None of the many shots hit the target.

Charming but somewhat sleepy, Russian female game floor directors kept drinking as if nothing had happened. They later said this always happened in Moscow, but the Russian players played better shots.

Later that night I met a casino manager from another casino. He had been drinking a lot since he had just been laid off. The owner did this two days ago because this "high roller" rider had won over a million dollars at the casino. This was of course the fault of a manager who wasn't lucky enough to win every night.

Our casino was a huge hit during the week despite the inevitable hangover. My salary went up. That's the life of the Asian Games.
