Wolverhampton turned down Man City's offer to sign Nunes.

Britain's "BBC" reported on August 24 that "Wolverhampton Wanderers rejected Manchester City's offer of 47 million pounds (about 78.7 billion won) for the ransom of Portugal's national midfielder Mateus Nunes."

Manchester City is looking for new midfielder resources as its star Kevin de Bruyne has recently become uncertain about his return in the first half due to a hamstring injury.

Earlier, Manchester City approached West Ham's Brazilian national midfielder Lucas Pacetta, but West Ham was adamant. Crystal Palace's technician Everettier is also considered.

Another player is Wolverhampton's main midfielder Nunes. Nunes left Sporting Lisbon last season to join Wolverhampton. Wolverhampton invested 38 million pounds (about 63.5 billion won) in the club's record transfer fee at the time.

Nunes, who played 35 league games (31 starts) without adapting to the big league last season, started both league games this season and played full time. It has become an irreplaceable resource in Wolverhampton's midfield, where João Mutinho and Juve Neves went out.

Wolverhampton is burdened with further power leaks. There are too many players who have already left. In addition to Neves and Moutinho's midfield duo, Raul Jimenez, Adama Traore, Nathan Collins and Diego Costa left the team. Nevertheless, only Matt Doherty, who was brought in as a free agent, is the only recruitment of the first division.

The team is shaking even more as coach Julen Lopetegui, angry at the stingy investment, resigned just before the opening. Wolverhampton has lost their second straight opening game.

However, the Wolverhampton club is in a position to earn transfer funds by selling players to comply with the financial fair play (FFP). If the cumulative loss exceeds (105 million (about 175.7 billion won) over three years, you will be disciplined for violating the regulations.

Wolverhampton spent more than 50 million pounds (about 83.6 billion won) in the transfer window this summer, signing Mateus Cunha and Bubakar Traore completely. As a result, if Nunes' ransom rises, there is a good chance that the club will consider selling.
