what is "openclaw/github-copilot-provider" ?
The openclaw/github-copilot-provider (often referred to as the github-copilot provider in OpenClaw) is a specific module within the OpenClaw framework that allows the self-hosted AI agent to directly use a user's existing GitHub Copilot subscription as its underlying Large Language Model (LLM) provider.
Skywork
Key Details: Purpose: It bypasses the need to pay for separate, expensive API keys (like OpenAI or Anthropic) by routing OpenClaw tasks through the Copilot API, allowing access to models like Claude 3.5 Sonnet and GPT-4o.
Authentication: It uses the native GitHub device-login flow (npm run login --provider=github-copilot) to generate an authorization token, eliminating the need to have VS Code running or use a proxy. Mechanism: The plugin directly talks to the Copilot API, exchange the token for API access, and provides premium coding intelligence for OpenClaw's automation tasks. Usage Context: It is designed to be used in an interactive terminal to configure OpenClaw, saving an auth profile to the user's configuration.

Note: As of April 2026, using Claude Pro/Max subscription OAuth tokens in OpenClaw is blocked, making this direct API-based provider crucial for accessing top-tier models via a Copilot subscription.
what is "openclaw/google-plugin" shortly ? (not just openclaw, the plugin)
The OpenClaw Google plugin (often referred to as the Google Workspace skill or plugin) is an official integration that connects the OpenClaw AI assistant directly to Google Workspace services.
Core Functions Task Automation: It allows the AI agent to proactively manage Gmail, Google Calendar, and Google Drive. Email Management: The agent can summarize unread emails, draft replies, and clear your inbox autonomously. Scheduling: It can check your availability, schedule meetings, or check you in for flights based on emails it receives. Unified Interface: These actions are performed through chat apps like WhatsApp, Telegram, or Discord, rather than the user having to open a browser.
OpenClaw
Technical Context Official Support: Google recently released a Google Workspace CLI specifically to provide a legitimate, documented way for developers to integrate "claws" like OpenClaw with their accounts. Secure Auth: It uses OAuth 2.0 credentials and tools like gogcli to establish secure connections, even on headless servers. Proactive "Heartbeat": Unlike a passive chatbot, the plugin enables the agent to periodically check your Google account (e.g., every 30 minutes) and nudge you with urgent updates.
what is "openclaw/hugging-provider" shortly ?
openclaw/hugging-provider is a specialized plugin for the OpenClaw AI agent framework that connects it directly to Hugging Face’s Inference Providers API.
GitHub Shortly, it does the following: Accesses Open-Weight Models: Enables OpenClaw to use thousands of open-source models (e.g., Llama 3, Mistral, Qwen) hosted on Hugging Face instead of relying only on proprietary models like OpenAI or Anthropic. Reduces Costs: Offers a cost-effective, often free or low-cost ($9/month) alternative to expensive proprietary API providers. Simple Integration: Provides an OpenAI-compatible API connector, allowing for a quick setup of top-tier open models within the OpenClaw ecosystem. Data Privacy: Allows users to offload inference to a cloud-hosted open model provider while keeping the agent’s core logic and tools running locally.
Hugging Face
It is primarily used by developers and power users who want the flexibility of using diverse open-source models without having to manage the hardware for local inference.
<inquiry> openclaw, planning on budget for probably a Mac Mini and want to check few things with you on various aspect of the setup (it will also probably run other Claws like "Hermes" not just OpenClaw so we are looking that the plugins and what it could supports works well.
When in OpenClaw, I see """◆ Configure plugins (select to set up now, or skip) │ ◼ @openclaw/github-copilot-provider (2 fields) │ ◼ @openclaw/google-plugin (2 fields) │ ◻ @openclaw/huggingface-provider │ ◻ @openclaw/minimax-provider │ ◻ @openclaw/moonshot-provider │ ◻ @openclaw/ollama-provider │ ◼ @openclaw/perplexity-plugin (3 fields) │ ◻ ACPX Runtime """
I dont need a review of these plugins but more like for my needs some of them will be useful to install and be capable to run locally, probably : huggingface-provider, ollama-provider and maybe more, that will be your job to find out.
I am interested in results you produce :
Exploiting, just using local models alongside my openai-codex subscription. We would not train anything, what would be the latest Mac Mini needed and what could I run with my claw to make it optimal. Explore at least 2 scenarios where 1 is the minimal requirements and the second would be more evolved and capable to load larger models like ollama that has around 40GB model size or something. That is possible that this second scenario matches the specs of the point no 2 bellow.
Exploiting and Local Training of various scenarios that you will find which one are common from the community etc and report on them briefly first. The claws that would run on that machine would be with our most evolved persona that will self-train their model maybe during weekends or every month. What is the minimal configuration for that and second scenarious on the Mac Mini what is the maximal required. Could explore a third that would be another Mac model.
What our agent might want to train would be part of my inquiry to you to find me what could be subject to that and which of these plugins could help us do that ? (ex. We use QMD from https://github.com/tobi/qmd and the hugging-face models used by that could probably be enhanced with our ways of knowing.)
I also have a 'github-copilot' subscription that I dont know what that '@openclaw/google-plugin' enable us todo. </inquiry>
