Ainsworth Chief Technology Officer David Bolesen is leaving the company

David Bolesen is departing slot machine maker Ainsworth Game Technology Ltd. The news was confirmed in a filing with the Australian Exchange on Thursday.

By "mutual agreement," his resignation had an "immediate effect," Ainsworth said.

The papers did not provide a reason for Mr. Bolesen to leave.

The company said it was "acknowledged and grateful" for Bolesen's "significant input and expertise during his tenure" and wished him well for the future.

The filing quoted Harald Neumann, Ainsworth's chief executive, as saying Bolesen "supervised the implementation of a transitional product strategy that laid the groundwork for the company to continue to improve product performance and achieve growth in all regions."

Neumann added that Ainsworth will set out to find a new chief technology officer. This person will be based on the operations of the company in Las Vegas, Nevada, the United States.

"In the meantime, the CTO role will be overseen internally by each regional president, along with game studio leaders," the CEO said.

Ainsworth said it had "extended its presence in Asia" earlier this week when it installed slot machines "significantly" at two casino properties in South Korea - Mohegan Inspire Entertainment Resort, a complex in Incheon, and Kangwon Land, home to the country's only casino.

The Australian-listed company said earlier this month it expects a decline in pre-tax half-year profit of at least 16.7%. The company expects such profit to range from A$13 million ($8.7 million) to A$15 million in the first half of the year, excluding currency exchange impacts and one-off items. That compares with A$18 million achieved in the second half of 2023.
