The Seven Select Young Player of the Month award is given to the young player who performed the best in K League 1 every month.

Candidates are eligible for the K-League 1 player: ▲ Korean nationality, ▲ under the age of 23 (born after 2001) and not more than three years from the year in which he made his first appearance in an official ▲ K-League game (debut after the 2022 season). Players who meet the above three conditions and participate in more than half of the total game time of his team in the relevant month are considered candidates. Among them, the final winner is decided through discussions and voting by members of the Technical Research Group (TSG) under the Federation's Technical Committee.

The Young Player of the Year award in April targeted a total of five matches from the 15th to the 9th rounds of the K-League 1 held in April. Five players including Yang Min-hyuk (Gangwon), Min Kyung-hyun, Park Seung-ho, Choi Woo-jin (Incheon), and Park Se-jin (Daegu) were nominated.

Yang Min-hyuk was selected as the best 11 in the eighth round of the K League 1 and was the only one among the five candidates to be listed in the best 11 round during the period. He also received the most votes from TSG members, as he played in all five games in April and recorded one assist.

Born in 2006, Yang debuted in the K-League as a semi-professional player this season, and has been performing well since the opening game as a starter in all games. Yang is drawing attention as a rising rookie in Gangwon Province, breaking all the team's youngest records, including appearances, scoring points and offensive points.

Yang Min-hyuk, the "Seven Select Young Player of the Month" in April, will receive a trophy and prize money ahead of the match between Gangwon and Daejeon at Songam Sports Town in Chuncheon on the 11th.

Meanwhile, "Seven Select," the naming title sponsor for this month's Young Player of the Month award, is the exclusive brand of 7-Eleven, a convenience store brand operated by Korea Seven. Seven Select plans to release K-League collaboration PB products that include K-League panini stickers this month.
