Modern Family System

This article will always be incomplete and subject to future revisions.

The family is the main unit of the society. For each family that is psychologically and scientifically enhanced, the world economy increases by 0.3%, human evolution accelerates by 0.07%, and the world becomes 0.09% more peaceful place to live in.

Keep in mind: Small numbers, can make massive changes given an ample amount of time.

If a single individual can change the world so much, what about an entire family working together? or an entire community? or the whole country?

Center of Family Building and Development:

Family Building System

  • Train adults and couples to prepare and be aware of what it means to have a family.
  • Teach them their responsibilities and how they can properly, efficiently, and happily do it.

Family Development System

  • Trained and assigned personnel are expected to train parents and would-be parents in wise and efficient ways in raising children.

How to raise children properly:

  • Give plenty enough time and love.
  • Teach them to be independent yet caring.
  • Determine their initial personality, then enhance their life.
  • Puzzles for logicians, sketchbook for artists, books for readers, games for the sociable.
  • Teach them responsibility at early age.
  • Add yoga, exercise, and meditation to their daily routine.
  • Have a clear, well-defined, and active discipline and judgement system.
  • Teach them how to socialize with others

Projects to do:

Project: Speed of Life - Take a picture of children each day from birth to 20 years old. Each picture should have an emotional expression for the day (EEFTD). Then teach them to take pictures of themselves each day until they die. For each 10 years they should compile those pictures into time lapse. When they die, their children or grandson should compile all those lifetime pictures into a great biographical movie similar to how the celestial animators covert your memories in the flesh after you die into a 4 dimensional movie.

Project: Ultimate Environment - Train each parents such that each children will be able to grow into Ultimate individuals in a perfectly researched environment that will boost their mental growth and personalities by 300% at least.

Project: The Perfect Family - Create, research, and develop many ways that will make the best families which will turn every society they live in into the best communities to live in. Teach them the perfect ways of raising a child, showing affection, maximizing interaction, and giving support.

Project: Weekly Meetings - Every week of each month, the family will gather and have a regular meeting at a specified time which is quite flexible and can be adjusted but mostly during the morning or night. They will discuss the problems that happened, currently happening, and will happen in their household. They will also discuss the new things that should be improved, added, or removed in the household. When making decisions, it will be by reasonable voting and discussions.

Project: Individual Talk - Every week of each month, each member should have talked at least once with another member of the family and this is one of the things that shall be checked at the weekly meetings of the family. The talk can be anything but it shall have a minimum of 10 minutes and the only evidence needed is a testimony from both of the people that their "talks" are confirmed.

Most common family problems and their possible solutions:

Eating Vegetables

  • How do we make children eat vegetables without forcing them? Their taste buds are sensitive because of their age, so each vegetable will amplify it's taste by 4x until they become adult and slowly lose their sense of taste.
    • The real question now is... How do we make children with sensitive tongues to eat healthy but not so tasty vegetables?
      • I suggest the following solutions here: First give the children vegetable foods most of the time when they are a kid, do not let them taste a yummy and tasty food like chicken. This solution seems autocratic and ruthless, I don't think this is going to work.
      • Another solution is to cook each vegetable in a way such that it will become soft, tasty, and delicious. It is also possible to create desserts out of vegetables so that children will naturally like it. Blending vegetables with meat in a heterogeneous way won't really work since the kids will just separate it out, but if we blend them in a homogeneous and delicious way, they will be able to eat it without thinking that it is a vegetable. I believe that this solution will work 90% of the time for little kids.

Greed and Gluttony vs Moderation

  • How do we teach children to have enough moderation so they won't hog all the food on the table or keep everything for themselves? How do we teach them to care about others while applying enough moderation on themselves? How do we make them humble and keep their materialistic desires at bay? This is an important problem that each parents have to solve in order for their children to grow up positively. So I propose the following solutions:
    • My first obvious but not so good solution is to act like a poor family, so everyone can learn to share and eat few things, but still be grateful for what they have. This seems like a passive solution that can only be brought about by circumstances, and it might even cause malnutrition, so I don't suggest it.
    • Another solution is to have both the school and family teach about moderation using animated consequentialist graphics, practical exercises, and storytelling. This way will take some time, but with enough patience, we can make the people learn and practice moderation in their everyday lives. It is also important that we teach them the importance of moderation so they will try to follow it.
    • Further, if we give them enough training, they will also be able to learn how to delay their instant gratification for the sake of the greater good which can greatly improve their life. But let's not force them to learn all those things in such a short amount of time, they are just kids so they will learn more as they grow old with the help of continuous guidance and experience.

Sibling Rivalry

  • How do we raise both kids at the same time without getting them fight over trivial things? This is one of the hardest challenges in parenting, and most parents can feel that they are helpless against this problem unless they use force to forcefully stop their fighting, which don't really work in the long term.
  • First let us determine the psychological cause of this sibling rivalry, according to my intuition, kids do fight each other more often if they also see their parents or other people doing it. Now let us give suggestions on how to solve this.
    • One my suggestion is to teach kids the principle of multi-perspectivism in an animated and cute graphical video form. Then they will learn that each person have different preferences which we should respect, some people are ignorant which we should teach. Don't worry kids learn 7x much faster than adults and are willing to apply their knowledge immediately.
    • Then have their parents teach them how to solve their fights properly without resulting to violence. I suggest that their parents teach them how to make a proper debate using reason and logic. And their parents would be the judge / questioner, to facilitate fairness and make the children learn about justice.
    • The parents should be able to show that they care about the fights of the kids, that they care about their emotions, and that they are understanding and respects the intelligence of the children considering their experience and level of maturity. They should be able to speak in a soft, calm, and serious manner when dealing with the matters important to the kids.
    • Lastly, everything that the parents teach to their kids, the parents should apply to themselves. The kid learns more by imitating how the parents act instead of listening to their repetitive rambles. This means that the parents should not fight in a such a primitive manner but instead be constructive in resolving conflicts in order for the kids to learn.

Respect for Authority

  • How do we raise children that have a good respect for authority without forcing them to have the mindset "I'm stronger than you so follow me you dumb shit"? This is one of the core challenges in parenting, for the parents need to learn how to strike the perfect balance between "love" and "respect" that creates earned authority.
    • I suggest the following solutions to this problem: First the parents should prove that they are superior to the kid by teaching them many things the kids don't know. The parents should also do their best in guiding the kid in the right path to take in life and what dangerous things to avoid.
    • The parents should have the last words in any family matters that includes the freedom, safety, and decisions regarding the growth of the kids. For each of those family matters, the parents should be able to properly explain to the kid why they did that and not this, give the kid reasons to believe and if the child is being annoying and persistent, say in a calm tone why is the kid wrong and the bad consequences that may happen. In other words, the parents should be able to provide sufficient reasons in doing something that concerns the children.
    • The parents should respect their children and try to do their best to understand what they really mean and what they want to do. They should be able to understand what the emotions of the children are and what are their feelings, so the parents can show empathy regarding the problems of the kids even if it is the most trivial problem they have.
    • They should be able to let the child give suggestions, comments, and feedbacks, about the parents' parenting style, and how the child thinks that the parenting should be improved. Let the child give their reasons and feelings why they did that thing and why they didn't do this instead. The parents should judge and discipline the child with respect to their feelings, emotions, and reasons. In this way, they will be able to prove their position as good and respectable parents.

Issuing of Commands

  • How can parents give commands to their kids in the most polite and respectable way possible where they don't feel forced? How do we make it so that the children will follow their commands without any complaint nor grudge? This is one of the most common problems that both parents and children have trouble with, for both the parents and children should know how to show respect in order for this to be resolved.
    • In order to be able to give commands and for children to respect and do them without being forced, I recommend that the parent's should respect the young children first and try not to interrupt them on what they are currently doing but they can, tell the children that they'll have to do the task in a specified amount of time with good reasons why it is important to do it.
    • Instead of suddenly interrupting them in the middle of a play or an online game, tell them that they will have to do something and they should try to pause it or finish it within 5 minutes because that something that they have to do is very important in a very calm manner.

Updates

The article above is an article I made many years ago which proposes a modern family system. Looking back, I sound a lot more logical and intellectual back then. My words flow like a straight line, exactly like a train of thought. Meanwhile my words these days flow in curved lines, as if they're waves of thought. Anyway I'm here to add an update to this system, to build upon the old.

First of all, the project: individual talk is way too formal and strange. It's supposed to be intimate and spontaneous, it's something that should not be forced but rather it's something that naturally occurs in a good and healthy environment. Instead of forcing such talks, it would be better to schedule regular family activities that promote self-expression and vulnerability. Therefore, it would be better to replace that project with Project: Fun Time — at least one hour of each day must be dedicated to family bonding like playing games together, watching movies together, going outside together, and other fun family activities.

Other interesting projects to consider would be:

Project: Free Thinker - Whenever the child asks a question, the parents should not answer immediately and should ask the child about what they think first. Whenever important decisions would be made concerning the household that would definitely affect the daily life of the child, the parents should listen to their opinion first even if they're going to do it anyway. This will help the child understand that it's important for them to be heard and they deserve to be listened to, no matter how irrational they are.

Project: Daily Meetings - While weekly meetings are a good start, I believe families are close enough that at least 10 minutes of daily meetings at the end of the day would prove to be beneficial for them. After all, weekly meetings are for small organizations and informal groups, so daily meetings should be for families. In this 10 minutes of meeting at the end of each day, every family member shall discuss about their thoughts and reflection about their day, what they managed to do, and what they plan to do tomorrow. It is also a good opportunity for them to learn how to criticize safely and with the other person's consent. More details can be found in the example below:

Human1: Hey human, I have something bad I want to say to you. Do you want to hear?

(If they say no, Human1 only responds okay and the other family members change the conversation.)

Human2: Yes.

Human1: I think what you did today is @#$_&-+ $&#-#-

Human 2: Alright. (Thanks for telling me)

Alternate response:
Human 2: Can I say something back?
Human 1: Go ahead.
Human 2: That's only because I was trying to...
Human 1: Okay

It's necessary for the parents here to act as a facilitator that encourages self-expression but discourage physical or verbal abuse. Whenever someone does or say something wrong, it is imperative that they don't respond something like "Don't do it, that's bad!" but rather they should respond "I understand that... But it's not a good idea to do it that way because... So if you're going to do it again, do it like this instead..."

Eventually, the family is going to get so comfortable with each other that they'll say what they dislike about each other without needing to ask first or taking offense about it. In social stuff, I heard it's called "playful banter". Just like how teeth braces are removed once they have fulfilled their purpose, these projects should also be abandoned once they have completed their purpose. One must abandon the boat after they have reached the other side.

Project: Life Expansion - Children shall go outside and talk to strangers for at least one hour each day while being supervised by a capable adult. This habit will make the world and other people more accessible for them, reduce anxiety, and help them become more expressive. They shall learn how to talk to strangers, interview them, and ask them questions. This is the same habit that the protagonist of my favorite nonfiction book had, they always went to the plaza every morning when they were a child and talked to a lot of people. As a result, they learned to speak and understand many more languages than their parents, plus they learned a lot of things that their parents and teachers don't teach them. It is absolutely necessary for a human being to comprehend and experience that most human beings are not threatening and are willing to talk, just as how it is necessary for them to experience that some human beings are indeed threatening and not worth talking with.

Project: Independence - I think children 10 years old and above should get their own room, and children 15 years old and above should at least have an Outpost House, which is a small house consisting of a short distance from their parents' house but at least 15 minutes away from its line of sight. In this way, the children can safely learn and explore independence without being completely separated from their parents. Plus the parents will become aware of their relationship with their teens depending on the frequency of which they go to the family home and the level of hospitality they would receive when visiting the outpost house of their children. The outpost house may be small but it is complete with basic necessities, and that house is something the teen can consider as their own. Thus, the teen can also upgrade their outpost house or add their own decorations by using the money they earned. They'll learn to maintain and manage their outpost house too, preparing them for the challenges of adulthood. Security isn't a problem if the neighborhood is safe enough and the children are raised by kind and caring parents. What's interesting is that there's enough space in front of the house to start a business, so they can learn entrepreneurship too. The ages 10+ and 15+ are the minimum age assuming that the children are raised properly and healthily, otherwise the age should be increased and additional security measures should be installed. Parents may introduce the outpost house directly or as a reward for being a productive teen.
